Super PEMDAS is a Cocoa-based calculator currently under development, which lets you work with formulas and variables. It's basically "Phase II" of the PEMDAS Dashboard Widget, and will eventually be a little bit more powerful.

I'm not sure if I'd necessarily say it's like Soulver -- I think both apps have different audiences. With Super PEMDAS, I'm shooting more for an ultralight version of Matlab/Maple, especially for doing engineering/science type work.
In all honesty, it's not quite usable for everyday work yet (you can't even save things), so you won't be missing too much if you hold off on upgrading to Leopard until 10.5.2 or 10.5.3, when things in the OS stabilize a bit more. You can always use the PEMDAS widget on Tiger in the meantime (shameless plug, heh).
A bit more like Soulver, no? This may be the determining factor for me to finally upgrade to Leopard.
