The Filter almost had me with its quick results, but it's worth the wait for Tangerine! to analyze your library...

-- The Filter seems to do a more surface skim, picking based on "other people who listen to this song listen to..." Last.fm type of system (in fact, it seems they're collecting listening data to their site),

-- while the Tangerine! analysis seems to dig deeper, giving playlists with more of a constant mood/vibe.

After a head-to-head, I had a way more interesting listen from Tangerine!

This didn't work for me at all. It says either unknown or 51 BPM for all of my songs. The 'fix' they describe on their site (creating a new library) didn't work either.

I also tested the beta and was hoping the app wouldn't cost too much...
Well as nice as this little app is $24.95 is simply overpriced, $10 less and i would buy.

I like this app... but can't decide whether it is better than The Filter

I love this app so so so much! There is a little problem. I think this app might cost to much, way to much... but it is just so awesome!! Man! I just hope it doesn't make a dent in my income, or I might not be able to afford it, when the beta is dead.....

I'd be interested in a real comparison between Tangerine and beaTunes. I know both require Tiger (so I can't use either yet), beaTunes runs on both Mac and Windows, and Tangerine looks a lot better, but is that it? Is one generally more accurate, etc? I suppose I can just try them both out when I get Leopard.

Tangerine! is not bad, but considering that this app is from the same people who dare to charge 13 bucks for a simple vioce recorder with a handfull of effects Tangerine! will propably cost around $50,- ...

Ever since I got iTunes I have wanted a program that does exactly what this app is trying to do. I would willingly pay far, far out the ass for this functionality.

It works and looks great.

Looks great, but it always crashes on my PPC Mac Mini.
Will check again after a few updates.
