TeXniscope is a DVI/PDF previewer for MacOSX. It has a simple user interface and it is capable of synchronization (forward/backward) with an external editor (e.g. Emacs) both for DVI files (using the src-ltx package) and PDF files (using the pdfsync package).

This worked fine to open a dvi file that mxdvi wouldn't (but that might not be fair to mxdvi because I think something might have been wrong with my dvi file).

Still works well although development has apparently stopped some time ago. To me, the biggest deficiency is the same as Preview: I can't choose Print from a contextual menu like I can in Adobe Reader. If I get some spare time in the future, I might try to add that, as the source code is available.
