A near-perfect application. I use this constantly during my hectic workday, to keep tabs on my priorities when my own head can't keep up. Previously I had an entire 1600×1200 display full of Post-it-notes for the same purpose. I've inspired two other of my workmates to start using it. I can't wait until there's iPhone sync support!

Things is just an awesome program. I own omnifocus but find it takes a lot of work to get it right. Things works the way my brain works. It still needs improvement it isnt even at v1.0 yet. Of course it will support the iphone in June.

After reading GTD (what a relief!), I found it ironic that most GTD apps were not simple to use and actually complicated processing tasks. Things follows two philosophies: GTD simplicity and Macintosh elegance.

Things succeeds where I believe OmniFocus failed. This is an easy to use application. Within ten minutes I had inputed over a dozen projects and next actions.

I think tagging is the key difference and usability enhancement. it allows you to impose your own cross-task structure -- priorities, categories, statuses, etc. whatever the designers didn't think of or want to clutter the UI with.

I'm really enjoying using Things, which means I DO use Things, which means it's actually of help to me in getting things done. As others have already said, once it gets Apple app integration and the ability to export/sync the info it will be a truly killer app.

It's attractive. But more than that I like its simplicity and flexibility; the neat way it handles the Someday and Postponed aspects of my life. Just a joy to use.

For perspective: I have tried Actiontastic and iGTD. Actiontastic was just a bit too austere and rigid; iGTD is fussy and requires too much "fooling around" with tasks, thereby defeating the purpose. I wanted a simple, elegant tool that would allow for quick capture, speedy processing, and no-brainer retrieval. Things is all that. Bravo! I'll be happy to pay for this app when the time comes.

I moved over from OmniFocus a couple of weeks ago and find Things much more usable. It seems like the developers took OF as a starting point then took it where it was supposed to go.

The simplicity of having predefined views for just seeing the next x actions, and marking stuff for today over a cup of coffee in the morning is just fun! As mentioned, the postponing is also really well done.

Being faced down by that list of next widgets to crank is both a wonder and depressing at the same time ;)

I know this is all possible with OF through perspectives, but I found that a bit arcane.

Things is more like OSX, OF more like Gentoo

I've been trying litterally every task management software on Mac since nearly one year without ever finding a program that would convince me and that would "feel right"... until 5 days ago, when I tried Things !

I think GTD method is good (well... not so much a revolution imho, but it's a progress), but shouldn't, at least when it's translated to a software, be taken too strictly.

I liked a lot the ideas behind Midnight Inbox, but it was completely unusable at the end, because you had to pass 1 hour configuring the tasks you would accomplish in the next hour... and because the management of contexts and areas was too strict and wouldn't let you any flexibility in the way you wanted to "get things done".

iGTD was more flexible, lightweight and stable... but I didn't like the interface. It didn't help you see was are the next things you should do considering the priorities and the context... Yet, it was probably the best solution available 'till now.

I won't say a lot about OmniFocus : seems not at all intuitive and easy to me (plus, I don't like the Omni kind of interface... it feels like Windows 3.1 in comparison with Things lol). And nothing to say about applications like TaskPaper or other extremely simple apps, since that kind of stuff doesn't add any advantages in comparison with pen and paper (imho)...

So, for nearly one year, I've been trying out and systematicaly abandoning all those tasks management apps... I had given up the idea of finding a cool program to improve my way of working...

And then I found Things.

First, it's nice and shiny :-). In my way of working, it really matters. I can't stand anymore working with ugly applications.
Then, it's easy to add your tasks and doesn't take hours to plan your future actions. Everything is very intuitive, fluid...
It lets you do with contexts, projects and areas what you want, you're not putting your tasks in airtight boxes.
At the end, it just feels perfectly right ! :-)

After trying OmniFocus for a few weeks, I took a peek at Things after they sent me an invite code. I had great expectations based on all their talk about simplicity but the truth is that it was a little too simple. OmniFocus does much more than I need, but of its features that I do need and use, it does them very well. I also prefer the clearer separation of Contexts and Projects in OF. I may try Things again when it hits 1.0, but its current version wasn't enough for me to switch.

Things is GTD and fun. Omnifocus and iGTD are GTD and work. What I mean is that Omnifocus and iGTD are hard to set up and to maintain. Things is easy and joy!

When Things has Apple apps integration and sync functionality it's a killer app.

Highly recommended.

Use it the first time and love it. It is so simple to use and so near to my way of working/thinking.
