2 Opinions:
This app makes transcription rather painless. The majority of digital voice recorder manufacturers have no Mac support. Olympus has transcription playback software, but it's real clumsy... But the important thing is that their DVRs show up as mass storage devices, and they can record to .WMA.. (Or at least the DS-2 which I use does)... So Transcriva works seamlessly with Flip4Mac .WMA plugin installed... Just plug in the DS-2, copy over the .WMA, and drag it into Transcriva. Works like a charm, and once it's in Transcriva, transcription is intuitive and painless. It has some flaws - can't use italics, &c. for emphasis in transcription, only preset color choices for the different speakers, export is limited to .RTF and .TXT, and has limited formatting options, printing straight from the program ends up odd sometimes... But the little complaints are just that - little complaints. Overall it's a wonderful program, at a great price.
Just registered!
Great app for transcribers and students.
