Transitions Player is a lite version of Transitions DJ.
Transitions Player annotates your music with beats, bars, and phrases, allowing you to see the structure of your music. Musical structure is most useful for DJs in the context of mixing music. Although features for mixing music are only available in the full version of Transitions DJ, the lite version will let you perform precise seeks, or to create beat-locked loops on samples of music. For mixing capabilities, check out Transitions DJ, also available in the Mac App Store.
Transitions Player uses beat detection algorithms to determine the low-level musical structure of your songs (beats and bars). The phrase level musical structure is retrieved from our community-created song annotation database, browsable at our website. The goal is to create a comprehensive database of song structure, similar to lyrics or guitar tab databases currently available to singers and guitarists. You can contribute to the database by uploading annotations you create with Transitions Player.
