Flexible backup to FTP, WebDav, Amazon S3

Twin is the most flexible online backup solution for Mac OS X, compatible with most Internet servers:

FTP, FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, MobileMe.

It even supports offline backups to external drives.

Twin is a true Mac product that preserves Finder info, resource forks, ACLs, Privileges and comes with an elegant user interface and a powerful assistant. It also provides numerous high-end features like AES-256 encryption, efficient bz2 compression, powerful exclusion rules and scheduler, support for splitting large files during network transfers, network-error recovery, individual digital signature for backed up files, multi-cores machines optimization and much more!

Twin is the best backup solution for Mac OS X users who already have access to online storage (web hosting, work servers, MobileMe...), or who want to buy their own dedicated online storage (Amazon S3, Bingo Disk, Online Storage Solutions), or even users who simply want more control and advanced features than other backup products allow.

3 Opinions

Contrary to the other guy, I successfully backed up several gigabytes to my private FTP server, halfway across the globe.
Haven't tried "full restore" though, but was able to restore select files.
I'm loving the app 'cause it allows me to use my own FTP server, and doesn't insist on selling me some arbitrary storage; it does incremental backup rather well; and most of all - I love that it encrypts everything before uploading, so I feel additionally confident.
Scheduler works like a charm as well, so all in all I'm overly thrilled about it.

Giving up on this app. Wasted money

This app has been a massive failure for me. Backups don't restore, and now the app wont even quit when its in the middle of a long S3 backup. Have to force quit everytime. Total mess. Maybe next version will be better
