Claims to be GPL, but has never released source code despite being made aware this is a breach of the licence.

I would love to see this app updated but I think it has been abandoned.
I have tried contacting the dev but no response.

if you opened a passworded file already, just click "password", enter it and click "extract".

that way you dont have to do the whole thing again.

i was wondering if there was any way for me to set the app to extract by default on the desktop... but nonetheless that's been a good app so far :)

@ dabrave:
It is possible to uncompress RAR files with passwords using UnRarX.
Just do this:
1. Launch UnRarX.
2. Click on "Password" on the toolbar.
3. Insert the password in its field.
4. Drag and drop the RAR file into the UnRarX window.
The file will be imediately uncompressed.

The best RAR DECOMPRESSOR,
(but not when the RAR has a password... its a bit annoying)
I have had no problems with almost 99% of all RARs, but with other programs... always give me errors (unarchiver, stuffit...)
I have to try also your recommendations (zipeg)

try Zipeg: http://www.zipeg.com
it is also free

you guessed it, I'm waiting for the Unarchiver to fix those password protected files.. meanwhile...

Note: the 'test' function's behaviour is strange: after having entered a password for the archive, it still reports errors, whereas extracting works fine.

Handy for those password protected rar files that The Unarchiver chokes on.
