New Functionality

New Default Layout – Calgoo now launches with a new layout and arrangement of the function panes. To reduce 'clutter' we have moved all the panes to the left hand side, giving the calendars a much larger display area. The panes 'turned off' on launch are; Buddies, Filters, Mini Day, and the Message Log. Each of these can easily be turned back on from the View > Windows menu or the user preferences.

Tasks – Calgoo now provides you the ability to maintain a list of tasks (a 'to do' list). These tasks can be displayed on the main calendar display, and can be associated with any one of your 'Read Write' calendars. Note: Calgoo Beta does not currently synchronize tasks with Google Calendar and recurring tasks are not supported. This functionality will be added shortly.

Find it – You can now find events by Summary, Tags and Buddies.
Additional Calendar Format Support

Outlook - when you add your Outlook calendar to Calgoo, you're given a number of choices for how events should be transferred;

Full synchronization – this provides periodic read/write synchronization between Calgoo and Outlook

Import (as read/write) – this allows all the data in your Outlook calendar to be imported into Calgoo, where appointments can be edited, added etc.

Import (as read only) – this imports the contents of your outlook to a read only calendar in Calgoo. Note: both Import options also give you the option of selecting 'one time only' – useful if you're 'giving up' your Outlook calendar!

iCal - Calendars that use the iCal/webcal standard can now be added to Calgoo. There are two ways to add these calendars;

Subscribe – sources of iCal calendars provide a subscribe link for all of their available calendars. Calgoo uses this to pull in all the required information about the calendar.

URL – In the same way that you can add a new Google calendar by copying a URL, you can now do this with iCal calendar.

Changes in the UI

Calendar Tree – improved visualization and control of display contents is provided by the ability to toggle calendars (and groups, and applied filters) on and off.

Modify Calendar options – you can now change a calendar's name or color directly from the calendar right click menu.

Dragging and Dropping – Calendars, buddies and filters can now be dragged and dropped. The Buddies pane can be organized using the drag and drop, and buddies can be dragged onto calendars, where they automatically become applied filters. Existing Filters can also be dragged onto calendars and auto applied.

Minimize to System Tray – Calgoo now has the option to be minimized to the system tray.

Themes – If you don't like the color scheme: we now have a number of 'themes' that can be selected. From the View Menu, select Themes, and the following options are available; Blue, Silver, Black

Mini Day Summary – Clicking on the 'More data' indicator, in the month view, now brings up a summary of the day's appointments. Clicking on the white space of a day, as well as hovering over a timeslot, also brings up this day summary.
Additional Appointment Functionality

New Appointment Dialogue – the Appointment Dialogue has been re-vamped, and now provides enhanced functionality around attendees as well as improvements to the overall workflow .

Quick Appointments – This allows you to add an appointment directly from a time slot by double clicking on the time required.

Enhanced Appointment Location - 'Map it' functionality allows you to find a meeting location using Google Maps. Enter the street address in location and hit the 'Map it' icon.

Reminders – Calgoo now provides you with the ability to add reminders to your appointments.
