Now when you select another folder for your database, if another Cashculator databases already exists there, you'll have the option to select existing database in addition to the option of overwriting existing database with current. This is helpful in two main situations: point Cashculator copies on different Macs to a shared database, for example on Dropbox, and when you want to have two separate databases in Cashculator and an easy to switch between them.
  • NEW: Database backups are now always saved in subfolder of the folder where your database is and not always in "/Library/Application Support/cashculator/Backups". In conjunction with the ability to to load different databases from different folders, you'll have separate backups for each database. Also, this allows you to better control the backup process of your database backups and in security aspect, if you keep your Cashculator database in a secured volume.

  • Comments for transaction - The new Comments feature allows you to add description of the specific transaction right into the text of the cell. So now, you can write the following “100(Dress)+200(Jeans)”. The cell will still show you 300 but the full text with the comments is now saved.
    In addition, for split transactions the current and total count of payments is automatically added to the comment. If you write “800/4(insurance)” in a cell you’ll get 4 cells, where the first will be “200(insurance 1/4)”, the second will get “200(insurance 2/4) etc. This works for all split transactions with “/” or with “*”. Comments can also be added to transactions from the sidebar with the new “Comment” text field.
  • Scenario notes - add notes to your scenarios. To enter a note for a scenario, select a scenario in the sidebar and from the scenarios menu on the bottom or in File/Scenario click “Scenario notes…”.
  • Bug fixes: Cashculator 1.2 also fixes some bugs that we and our customers have found. One major bug was related to disappearing totals for customers who move time zones. Another bug could cause issues when using password protection.

  • Category icon selection - you can now select an icon for each category, edit them or import new icons.
  • Support recurring events on certain months only - now you can make a recurring transaction that will occur once every two, three or other number of months.
  • Support for cents - For users who take their budgeting seriously, we now have the option to display income and expenses with cents without rounding them. This feature can be activated from View menu. Internally, all is saved with cents now.
  • Saving your entry history - When you add several transactions to the cell, not only the total sum of them is saved, but the value of each transaction is saved as well. For example if you spent $100 for groceries and later spent additional $50, just by pressing "enter" on the cell you will be able to see that the spending of 150 on groceries consists of 100 and 50.
  • Automatic Backups - Your personal Cashculator data is now backed-up before each launch of the application.
  • Support for larger amounts - Cashculator now supports very large amounts and will autosize the columns in the table to fit them.
  • Better locale support - Numbers will now be displayed according to locale settings in tables and in sidebar (with correct thousands and decimal separators)
