Version 2.4.30037 | Release Date: 2010-08-25 | Download

The Jing team has been hard at work adding three more improvements to Jing--proxy support, SFTP, and audio device selection. The first two are targeted at our corporate and education users. If you've ever tried to use Jing behind a proxy...well, notsomuch huh? We now try to autodetect the proxy settings and allow for manual settings with authenticated proxy support.

We hope everyone appreciates the new way you can select your audio device from within Jing. No more messing around with the default audio input device. When you install this update, Jing will prompt you to pick which microphone you want to use when you make your next video. Jing will keep using the same device unless you change it or your available audio devices change.

    Version 1.3 | Release Date: 2007-10-10 | Download
    • When capturing, we show selection dimensions, and now have a 3..2..1 countdown before video recording starts. We also tell you if the microphone is on or muted, and remember if you previously had it muted. And we let you Restart a video if you make a mistake while recording. We also think we fixed a bug with selecting the default sound input.
    • When editing an image capture, you'll notice new arrows and text boxes and new undo/redo buttons (command-z and command-shift-z still work too).
    • When sharing, we no longer interrupt your first share to sign you up for Screencast.com. Now we handle that when you first launch Jing. We also improved support for authenticating proxies.
    • It's now much easier to get the html code for embedding shared items in your blog or website by using a new menu on the Share button, and improvements to Screencast.com like Click To Play make your pages load much faster!
    • The History window now allows sorting and filtering to help you find old items quicker, and when the mouse lingers over a thumbnail for a second, a new little window appears to show more information about that item. Also, we show each item's name and size below its thumbnail.
    • The Screencast.com team made a little video showing their newest features, including Click To Play
    Version 1.2.6 | Release Date: 2007-09-21 | Download

There is now a Check for Update button in the help area of the More window. We also check for updates on launch and once a day. For users with more than one Screencast.com account, you can change which one Jing is logged into, via the Preferences in the More window. Jing now shows progress during an upload, and uploads can be cancelled. They can be restarted via the History window. We have a workaround for MSN Messenger blocking our URLs. This was described in an earlier blog entry, and now we adjust the URLs within Jing automatically. The reliability of uploads to Screencast.com have been improved. We improved support for system-configured proxies.
