Vidalia is a cross-platform controller GUI for Tor, built using the Qt framework. Using Vidalia, you can start and stop Tor, view the status of Tor at a glance, and monitor Tor's bandwidth usage. Vidalia also makes it easy to contribute to the Tor network by helping you set up and manage your own Tor server.

Vidalia runs on most platforms supported by Qt 4.1 or later, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux or other Unix variants using the X11 window system.

Note: the Vidalia bundle includes Tor, the Privoxy proxy, and Torbutton, an add-on for Firefox.

IMHO, the point here is not to have a pretty icon, but to be able to allow the Mac to interact with the Tor network, and help protect your privacy. In this respect, it looks to accomplish the task well. Plug, the latest install has a spiffy onion-like icon which should satisfy everyone.

it is a horrible icon and waste of space.. i'm not too sure because i only recently downloaded this, but wouldn't something like Dockless solve the problem?

i wish it didn't have the ugliest dock icon... or that i could hide the icon altogether
