0.9.2 and 0.9.3 still slow and choppy for me on Intel Mac. Going back to 0.8.6 since the Mac version already had the fullscreen controls builtin (which would be a reason for me to upgrade on Windows).

Nevertheless, great app.

0.92 is extremely laggish in Power PC, so I guess PPC users will have to be stuck on previous versions. Bad luck!

It's spiffing, but it doesn't play nice with 1080p Matroska videos on a fully pimped Leopard based MacBook Pro. WTF?

Simply the most singularly-useful media playing app out there - I think both on Windows and on the Mac.
Some users complain of bugs but personally I have had few issues - all of which were solved using the method listed in the post Below :)
It also has a tonne of extra features that hardly anyone seems to stumble across - i seem to find a new use for VLC every few weeks! (see the Streaming/Exporting Wizard for some ideas)
Thanks VideoLAN!

If any of you get the following error at launch:
"main: You cannot run the MacOS X module as an extra interface. Please read the README.MacOSX.rtf file."
you're not alone (there are multiple threads about this on the vlc forums - most of them unanswered).

Well the answer is that the pref files sometimes get corrupted during upgrades/updates (I've had the error ever since I upgraded to 0.8.6.c).
So you have to delete the VLC folder and the org.videolan.vlc.plist from ~/Library/Preferences.

Now it should run as normal...no more error pop-ups on launch (new uncorrupted prefs will be created when run again)
