I find V5I more powerful than Bryce, but easier to use than other apps such as C4D or 3DS or Maya. However, you can't so much as fart sideways without it crashing or becoming partially unresponsive. The Mac version is, sadly, beta-quality software; I haven't used the PC counterpart, so I can't comment on that.
