There is a newer version than what is shown here. The developer's website has the latest version with more features.

To the commenter below, you don't have to keep the app running. You can quit after you activate it. Also, you have to pay $10 for the app you suggested. This is free.

Nice little app. But if you want more functions (and no dock icon) try this: Backlight
