Curious, why does this still say $ 50? You can get it at almost any game store for $19.99 .

agreed with the comments about the video card. although the game is playable on less hardware, the better the video card the better your experience. it looks absolutely beautiful on my Radeon X800.

As with anything in life, moderation is the key. That said, I think World of Warcraft is a great game that is easy to pick up and play from the start. It ran decent on my PowerBook and runs even faster on my MacBook Pro.

This game is like crack, seriously, avoid it at all costs if you have any addictive qualities in your personality. This game can ruin your life.

Is there anywhere that this can be downloaded as a demo? Or do I have to fork over the initial $50-$60 to even try it?

WoW is very dependent on your video card, and plays rather poorly on Macs using the Intel GMA video architecture. Part of that is due, however, to the rawness of the MacOS X drivers for Intel video. If you set up Bootcamp on that Mac Mini (intel), you'll get much better performance under Windows.

However, for intel Macs with GPUs such as the Radeon x1600, performance matches similarly configured PCs (smooth like butter on my 20" iMac)

The v1.11 patch to WoW combined with 10.4.7 OS X patch has improved performance immensely. The Mac/WoW dev team had this to say:

"10.4.7 for Intel Mac has some handy new OpenGL features that WoW 1.11 can use to run a little smoother and faster."

I'll back that up. =)
