X-Assist
X-Assist is a small application created to bring a few beloved Mac OS 9 features to Mac OS X. It provides an application switcher menu in the familiar location, a "Recent Applications" menu with no limit on items, easy access to individual System Preferences, an extensible plugin architecture, and the ability to toggle between Mac OS 9 window behavior (when you switch applications by clicking in a window, all windows for that application are shown) and Mac OS X windowning behavior (only the clicked-upon window it brought forward).

0.8 is back now, as a Universal Binary compatible with 10.4 and 10.5. What a relief to have it back!
