I have been using Xtorrent for a long time now and I think its added value is mainly search. If you are looking for a barebone client, this is not it. If you looking for something to find stuff quickly and reliably, Xtorrent take is unique to the point that you wish you had the option of using Xtorrent just to find the torrents and another client of choice to download them.

For what is worth, I personally don't agree with the haters. The developer may be rude and arrogant but the features Xtorrent is worth buying are unique and specifically developed for it. The ability to actually download the torrents is not what makes this app useful. Sure, it may be using libtorrent also to probe the torrents during the search but, i really want to stress the fact that there's actual contribution from the developer.

Bottom line, can't live with it can't live without it.

I feel compelled to defend this application. While Watanabe may not be the easiest person to get support from, the 2.0 version of Xtorrent is superb. It runs like a speed demon, has a brilliant built in search feature, and looks better than any torrent app I've ever seen. Watanabe's dedication to updating this version of Xtorrent has been fast to say the least. Further, understand that this version DOES NOT use libtransmission.

uTorrent...Transmission...bunch of others that are just as good...save your money.

Damn. I wish I had stopped here before I bought this app. Ever since I paid $25 for this application it's been freezing and crashing on me. Seemed great just before that. I've tweeted and emailed the developer for tech support for over a week now with ZERO response. The fact that there's no email address or user forum on the website should have been a stronger clue to stay away from this guy.

Worst app purchase ever.

stay away from the sleaziest mac developer ever allowed to exist. watanabe (or watanasshole as many prefer to call him) is argumentative, remote and unresponsive to even his paying customers with many cases of him refusing to honor lifetime upgrade licenses because he sucks at keeping track of them and then accuses his customers of copyright infringement.

oh the irony of a pirate accusing others of piracy. damn if i will ever buy anything from the sleazebag again.

welp, came to IUT to find a new torrent client. Xtorrent is constantly freezing up on me...i am an idiot to pay for the full version. after reading these opinions i know i'm making a good decision. this client has brought me nothing but aggravation. i can't remember ONE time i've not had to use "force quit" on this app.

Xtorrent is excellent for those who live on eye candy and can spare a penny or two.

No offense, but why in the heck would you PAY someone for a piracy app? Non-free piracy apps should die, it's insane that app authors are trying to make money off others stealing stuff.

This app has it's pretty cool features I must admit. But overall not worth the buy and it's also kinda buggy.
