"only StuffIt offers newly-patented technology that provides 100% pixel-perfect compression of 24-bit images, including TIFFs, PNGs, BMPs and GIFs."
What are they talking about? Aside from the 256 color palette limit of GIF, all of those formats are already "100% pixel-perfect," and all of them support compression⦠TIFF can use ZIP or LZW, PNG uses DEFLATE, BMP can use RLE, and GIF uses LZW.
Not to mention, any normal file compressor can handle any type of file⦠I can throw a BMP into a ZIP archive with no ill effects, or a TIFF into a 7Z. They just make up more and more nonsense as they try to stay relevant.
