I resent having this crap foisted on me with an incremental update. Upgrading to a major release, you expect cheesy gimmicks; but at 6.5 to 6.6 it's absurd. I don't need a menu for it, nor will it stay in the Dock longer than it takes to click and drag.
It's a minor inconvenience, but it's also typical of Apple. I think making dubious features (or poor implementations of them) integral to the OS has always kept it beneath its potential (e.g. Spotlight, the Dock, CPU-intensive animations).
