I've owned and used this application for years - pretty much ever since I owned my first Mac. It protects your privacy, and so much more. Is it a little bit annoying to have to approve each new application trying to talk to the Internet? Perhaps. But once you get used to having it around, and the majority of your applications are configured to work with Little Snitch, when a new application tries to talk - maybe one you don't WANT to talk - you'll take notice, and be able to take action. Little Snitch should be bought and used by anyone who wants to know, and then control, which applications get to talk, and how. An essential app.
P.S. If you have more than one computer, check out the family pack license, as it may save you some money.
