Because creating a folder for moving between windows takes:
1.creating a folder
2.arrange windows to put the files
3.open the folder to drag and drop
4.arrange windows to put back again
5. perhaps less or more steps
So with XShelf this just takes to open a window drag and drop to the xshelf
and then return back where you want it, end!
I think this fills a hole in OSX GUI, it will be interesting other approaches though, maybe like the XShelf be integrated in the finder windows. Or maybe an option or area to keep the files in the XShelf to copy in place of moving.
By now it makes life easier :)
