Great! Great! Great! Way better than Fetch or Cyberduck.

This is one of my "Can't Live Without" applications. It's the killer app that not even Windows fanboys can have! It is straight up, yummy!

Best FTP Client the Mac has to offer. Fast, reliable and not bad looking. Give it a try and you won't go back.

Great app.

But what's with the new icon?! Displaying a fake mouse pointer as part of an app's icon is such a bad idea.

I agree with mfichtner.

This app could need of a few extra bucks spent, hiring a designer so as to gain a higher visual overall level (including icon). I'm not saying it because I have a desire to sound negative, but this has been on my mind regarding this app, for a good while now. And because it's one of the most mysteriously unrecognized apps I can think of today, I find myself unable not letting it out.

A major reason behind the exorbitant hypeness of Transmit, as well as the large amount of people overlooking Yummy FTP, is due to the fact that the creators of Transmit devote great care to the necessity of visual delightfulness; an aspect that you simply cannot dodge in the competition between cutting edge Mac soft today. That's it. Icon is king. Along with a number of other details, of course. But the icon... Personally I'd argue that it's the single most important thing.

In comparison, Yummy FTP is a lot more trustworthy, a lot faster and simply has a lot more "roar" under the hood, than Transmit. Still, it lacks the looks of a real champion app. So, let's hear it for a substantial makeover.

January 8th 2008: Transmit, 3708 - Yummy FTP, 320.

I'll put everything I got, including two horrible cats and a lousy career on the bet that Yummy will be closing in by the end of the year, 31st of December 2008.

Though the icon is terrible, it's a great FTP app especially the seamless integration with textmate. I prefer it to Transmit, Cyberduck, and Flow.

Great application, fair price. Developer responds very quickly. Future feature sets promise several cool things - well worth purchasing.

Here's a free alternative:
Use Safari. Wait until the movie is fully loaded. Then open the Activity window. Look for the biggest file there (usualy with a few megabytes) and double-click it. The Downloads window will appear and you will see the FLV file being downloaded.
Then, use iSquint to convert it to MPEG-4/H.264.
It's easy and... completely free!
And you can dowload from YouTube, Dailymotion and other websites.
With Firefox it is also possible to download the FLV files with a few extensions that can be added to this browser.

Or you could use the free PodTube.

PodTube is not free anymore. Now you have to pay 5 dollars to use it.
(You may confirm this in the developer's website.)

Just one more note about PodTube...
You may not even try the new version. You are allowed to download it only AFTER you have paid.

Wow, I bought last year (December 26)and I still have yet to receive my registration. I have sent five e-mails to their support address and get automated replies, but no registration. I e-mailed the programmer directly and he told me that he would pass my e-mail along to his "registration guy". I promptly recieved an e-mail with a bad registration file. I have asked for the zip file registration via e-mail on January 11. So here I am on January 20 with no registration file. This guy runs his business like he doesn't have a clue. He thinks that he is keeping "hackers" from stealing his programs with this uniquely rediculous registration method. He is in fact angering PAYING CUSTOMERS. He should hire someone to help with support if he is that swamped. Stinkbot is the name of his company, and the name says it all. $15 is expensive for a handful of nothing. UGH. SAVE YOUR MONEY. AVOID AT ALL COST.

This is must-have item for your menu bar. It warned me of a HD failure just in time. I had a fairly recent backup but I was still able to pull my data off of the failing drive before it died.

This takes up no processor cycles, no room, it doesn't even need to take a space on your menu bar, it can operate in the background. And It May Just Save Your A**. It saved mine.

Holy crap, the guy's .Mac site went down. You can't download the software now... Does anybody know what happened?

Ok, since this guy's .Mac site went down and since there doesn't seem to be any other place to download it, I've decided to temporarily put the app up at this location:
http://kumaran.vijayan.googlepages.com/SMARTReporter.zip

Note that is a download for the slightly older 2.2.0 version. The current version is apparently 2.2.1.
