Comment and replies on VirtueDesktops:
Like the app-binding to specific desktop. Hate that those pref's seem to be lost half the time it launches. Which is often, as it crashes a lot. The launchd log watching kluge (see Lingon) doesn't work for me, either. Switching to DesktopManager for now.
Very Unstable.
Switching back to Desktop Manager
I'm still crying inside from the developer discontinuing development of this app. Even with Spaces, there's a lot of Macs out there left running Tiger or Panther, which would benefit greatly from VirtueDesktops.
It's still usable, and the advantage over Desktop Manager is that it's UB.
Desktop Manager UB available here:

Version 0.5.4r1
Where does the latest version come from? Is it still Tony developing it? The website says "discontinued", and the latest version I know is beta2, the current is beta4. Who made beta4??
Looks like someone from the open source community picked it up -- maybe we found a new project maintainer?
Wow, interesting. Is there a changelog for this release?
Somehow I don't trust an anonymous author .. I have it installed, but I'll watch out. Am I paranoid?
I wouldn't say you are. It's a very suspicious situation atm I would say.
I think here's the changelog for the Beta4. It also reveals who the submitter of the beta fixes are.

Mad propz to Florent Bruneau for contributing to the changes for beta 5:
http://virtuedesktops.info/index.php/2007/06/13/virtuedesktops-054-beta-5/
"Changes
* Fixes to localisation;
* Miscellaneous fixes for stability;"
VirtueDesktops is not being actively developed again, and Florent has certainly not made any promises to continue contributing - he's making fixes as he can. If you are a heavy user of VirtueDesktops, you should upgrade to the latest betas and see how you go - they are much stabler, and have much more consistent behaviour.
Mad props, indeed :)
Well, thanks Florent :-)
Check your log files!
Last night I noticed that my library was over 9 gigs, while another user's was about 250 MB. After about twenty minutes of searching, I found the VirtueDesktops log. You're probably thinking, "It's a log file- how big can that possibly be?" I'll tell you: 8.24 gigs! I tried to open it in Console, but the system immediately bogged down and I had to force-quit Console. Then I opened it in Firefox, and that worked. However, after a few minutes, there was still text loading! This file is huge! So, I used AppDelete to get rid of the program and all its affiliates, and I lived happily ever after (so far). Maybe this was an isolated incident, but I recommend you check.
Oh yeah, it's located in /Users/[user]/Library/Logs/
Note VMWare 1.1RC has fixed the fullscreen bug it had with Virtue, it is working great together now! :-)
Being a long time Linux user I wouldn't be able to live without my virtual desktops, and VirtueDesktops saved me, thanks!
Comment and replies on Transmit:
I'm been using Transmit for a long long time. Transmit has a nice UI, Nice Features, Tabbed FTPing and much much more! It is great! I Love it! It's definetely the best ftp client out there!
Not only is it a great, fast SFTP app, but it's a beautiful Mac app. One of the best around.

This is like Spaces in Tiger. They aren't continuing development on this app probally because when Leopard comes out, Spaces will replace this app. Very cool app though!
