Wow, this is pretty awesome! And open source to boot!
More than TextEdit, less than MS Word, and it has an intuitive and pretty design:
The perfect text app!
Excellent replacement for Textedit. Two days using it and I am sold. Just enough features to make editing easy, without cluttering up the interface like a bulky word processor. I especially appreciate:
- Alternate text colors (e.g. Green on Black)
- Zoom slider at the bottom of the window
- Multi-color highlighting of text
- Fast/Free
Perfect app for taking notes, writing drafts, then transferring to a more complex app for layout. I'll never use TextEdit again. Thanks, Bean!
Wrong icon, here is the real/new one: http://suffren.org/files/beanapp.png
Lean and fast. Not a real alternative to OpenOffice/NeoOffice though. Looking forward to OpenDocument support.
achhh this is such a nice little word processor, but why won't it save the zoom setting or window size/position!?
Confirmed working well with Opentype fonts w/ ligatures/stylistic alternates.
Too bad that doesn't support .odt documents.
However, pretty and light. Hope that it will support .odt and will be usable with Lepard AND Tiger.

Nice app but I can't use it. it doesn't seem to support dual monitor setups. :-(
Interesting app, but it's listed as Freeware, when it's really ShareWare, at least as of Version 1.1 that's on the site for DL.
Great app but has some ui bugs, especially when switching between external monitors and arranging tabs.
Love this app to death.

I like this application. Very handy. It supports dual-monitor arrangements very well. For freeware, it seems like the splash screen stays around much too long.
Splash screen? Turn it off in the Options tab of the preferences. This is easily one of the most professional-looking freeware programs around for Mac OS.
In fact I'd love it if the developer released a new version and started charging for it ($15-20) so he would have a chance at being compensated enough to continue work on it. It hasn't been updated in over a year and a Universal version would be very welcomed.
This is it! One of the most usefull "little...tiny" freeware program of Mac OS X. (one year without a new version...mmm)
Now lets hope that the author of FinderPop upgrades his wonderfull utility too and we have a complete feast. :-) cheers!
Two updates have been released this week. The latest version is now 1.7.2 and it's Universal.
It's still freeware, but I'm sure Pierre will apreciate any donations for his valuable time and this great application.
a GREAT application at a great price. must have for any mac user.
Just fantastic!

Cool little app.
