Comment and replies on Yep:
yep is shareware, not freeware.
The best program I've found yet to use for prepared cases for collegiate parliamentary debate. Gotta find them quick!
However, the interface is a bit clunky and an alternate list view may be ideal. Seeing a PDF thumbnail that's 150×100px is not legible and really just wastes space.
Scratch the previous comment. Apparently there's a new version…
For PDF and image preview... You bettet try "FileBrowse"
I love this app. I have hundreds of academic journal articles on my Mac, and Yep enables me to find and use them effectively - previously I used Spotlight. Best feature? Auto-tagging.
The description should be updated to reflect the actual name of the product, the "kip" references are confusing.
While this is incredibly useful, be very, very careful when using this app. For no apparent reason, it dumped 641 of my PDFs, which I spent months gathering and organizing, into the trash, with no warning at all, even though I did set it to warn me before moving files to the trash.
Very, very useful. Especially for anyone who has a lot of journal articles and other research documents in pdf format. I am in the process of scanning 15+ years worth of paper articles that had previously languished uncatalogued (more or less) in filing cabinets. Once digitised and tagged within Yep they are infinitely more useful to me. Using tags I can actually retrieve and refer to articles that previously I might have forgotten I had.
For all those using this for academic software it may be best to try Papers. It provides a much cleaner way of storing PDFs and makes things much easier to find in terms of science. Plus it has a whole bunch of other advantages.

This may just be the answer I've been after for receipts though...
Sort and store / tag your PDF's as well as putting a button on Safari alowing you to take full web page shots and then storing them to your pdf library ! simple to use .
I Love this 1 big time
Comment and replies on Accordance:
Being a student of theology and writing lots of exegisis now - this is my most used app besides Microsoft Office ;-) Accordance is powerful and sophisticated and compared to Libronix for Windows (which will be released soon for the Mac) it's as strong and doesn't need to hide behind it.
The most needed books for original langauge work are available as modules (so everything in english). Over all a must have for Mac-Theologians!
This is simply the BEST Bible software!
I'm new to this. I was primarily a logos user. Still trying to get the hang of it. Seems to have a different approach with the interface than logos. I think the more I get used to it, the more I may appreciate accordance over logos.
Not universal binary yet even though it states it above but still runs good under intel. Hope to see a universal soon. Its the only app I have left on my mac that is not universal.
This software is what originally converted me to the Mac. I studied Bible at Wheaton College, and all my professors would buy Macs just so they could run this software. I've met the Accordance crew, and they're super friendly and intelligent people who are very professional about their software. It's pretty good stuff. Oh, and they're working on a Universal Binary.
Comment and replies on Bookpedia:
I have lots of books in my shelf for studying, working and entertainment. And I lend out a lot of books. So this is one of my (believe it) most used apps - and I love it. ISBN searching via Amazon comes very handy and makes adding new books to the database very easy. So check out this tool, if you are a book-lover! ;-)
I looked at Delicious Library, Readerware, and Booxter before I decided on Bookpedia. Besides importing from Amazon, scanning barcodes via iSight, and the ability to hold a bunch of data about a book (which is more or less similar across other applications), I especially liked the implementation of a separate smartlist for borrowed books - makes it much easier for me to keep track of books. Plus, all kinds of statistics about your book reading habits, if you're into that :)
I LOVE this program. I have an extensive book library and people are always borrowing them. Not only am I able to buy/sell books online, but am also able to 'check books' out to my friends.
Very slick and reasonably priced. I was going to get Books (freeware) and use it to scan for import to BibDesk, but Bookpedia has built-in BibTex export. And I got a CueCat on ebay for $12 or so. I figure I averaged about a minute a book for the first batch, including looking up the ones with no barcodes and moving the data into BibTex. With a stack of new books (all with barcodes and no used bookstore stickers etc.) it would go much quicker. Worth the price for my needs.

A very usefull app if you have a lot of PDFs. But it's a bit slow on my 1,33 Ghz iBook G4. Would be great to support more document types than just PDFs in further updates. For now it's a great app for free!
