Excellent app, I have found it better than MacFuse, and easier to implement.

Not sure what to do about this, but the place to get an OSX version of this app is now the official sourceforge page at www.sabnzbd.org

This is the best, and most stable version ever. With an ability to strip nzb files from an RSS feed, then categorise them.

An iPhone comptible interface, integration with newzbin.com this is the best binary downloader bar none.

Remarkably useful if you have to deal with a lot of weird codecs. (Although once you work out why it won't play in VLC, you often find there isn't much you can do about it on the Mac.)

I've been looking for something like this for quite a while. I miss having Gspot from my Windows box.

this is a very handy program to have around for anyone who regularly encodes or transcodes video or audio. for instance, amongst many other potential uses, if i am working with avidemux and specifying the target size for a video i am transcoding to xvid, i can use this program to find out exactly how large the video and audio streams are, respectively, thereby enabling me to specify an exact & proper target size for the video stream and a proper encoding scheme for the audio stream to reach the target size without compromising too much on quality. kudos do the developer.

p.s. i submitted an icon for this application a while back, someone should put it up.

If you want to uninstall this, and I can't believe you won't, as it is buggy to say the least - go into /Library/Input Mangers and delete saft. Whether it it removes all the junk of an install I don't know, but at least it stops this crap from running.

You could try running the uninstaller, as per the instruction by the genius coder behind Saft, but as it doesn't exist you'll have to code it yourself - which should do you some good to learn some coding at least, so fortunately will not be a complete waste of time.

not support Safari 3.1 yet..

wordy, 2008-03-30

Does anyone know how to make this feature work? From the "features list" --

Enter/Ctrl-Enter to Go to Next/Previous Links (Like in Google)
Due to user requests, Saft add this OmniWeb feature to Safari. You can use Enter key instead of clicking on "next" links as in pages of search results from Google. Ctrl-enter for "previous" link. Saft does so by searching for links with these two keywords (and their variants in German, French and Japanese).

I can't seem to get this to work at all

@wordy: The feature works fine for me. Maybe you're using the Return key instead of the Enter key. The Enter key is on the bottom-right of external keyboards, and left of the arrow keys on built-in keyboards.

Not without problems running on Leopard. I would wait for an update if using Leopard.

Don't know what the speed is like on this, but there is a free alternative NTFS-3g

avatar

by
dur, 2008-01-23

Faster than NTFS-3g. Works well with USB disk. Don't found any troubles in Leopard but price is high a little

Works fine with Leopard. I agree with 'dur' - Paragon NTFS is faster than NTFS-3g.

I'm on the beta. Regarding the pricing, yes, I must admit I find it steep, too. When they are out of beta I'll still buy a license though, simply because I tried all the gmail 'enhancers' out there (including on the PC) and mailplane is the only that work 90% the way I'd like gmail to work.

Bottom line is that google crippled gmail multi-account behavior on purpose - if you have 8 accounts or more using their 'google for your domain' program you must logout and login again each time you want to check a different account and it takes fooorrreeevvverrr to do do so, AND you can't know how many mails you got in each inbox. Even with apps like netvibes you still can't switch between accounts easily. But with mailplane you just doubleclick your account name and voila. I monitor dozens of accounts accross domains and this app saves me a LOT of grief.

Version 1.60 (and previous too iirc), gets quite often stuck when sending a big attachment (ie: over 10MB). Opera works much better for this.

For those using the beta version, there's a new version out:
2.0 beta 2 (734)
"Important update for all users!

Gmail is pushing out a new Gmail 2 version, this may lead to these problems:
external links and downloads do not work
The Mail menu doesn't work correctly
compose new in separate window doesn't work

New: Faster loading

Thanks to Google, Gmail loads much faster! Account switching, new message windows, and initial startup are much zippier! "

Beta version 2.0 beta 2 known issues:
- "Safari Ad Block" and "SafariBlock" are not compatible with newer WebKits and cause Mailplane to crash. Workaround: Uninstall these InputManagers or enable use "System WebKit" in advanced preferences (req. Safari 3.1.1 or newer).
- Strange file extension (.doc.dot) in MS Office documents. This is caused by MS Office 2008. See this Apple Support thread for more information. Workaround: Rename the file.
- Using the mouse to insert a contact from the contact autocompletion doesn't work. Workaround: Use TAB or ENTER key to select the contact.
