Anyone have the install file? I can't seem to connect to the homepage anymore.
Hope this is allowed -- have posted a copy temporarily for anyone who'd like to try it until the site is accessible again. It should be clean, but of course, please take the usual precautions when downloading anything online.

Thanks Iko for uploading the app!
Thanks for sharing this one!
Comment and replies on Todos:
Todos in its current state has one annoying glitch (for me): It starts with the window open and there seems to be no way to toggle that. This doesn't please my aesthetic demands well, as I like an application launcher to be in my start objects, yet use it for the lesser used applications only (the others sit in my Dock). Also i feel that the application window should come up on a a single click on the Todos icon in the menu bar, not only via the hotkey. Ctrl-click could bring up that application menu with preferences, etc.
Why I use Todos? Apart from the previously listed flaws it's generally visually pleasing and a good workaround for a problem I face with OS X: I use my system in the language i natively speak (which is not english) but tend to remember OS X apps by their original (english) names - Spotlight only searches for and brings up the translated names. (Yes, OS X changes them, with sometimes pathetic results - 'Harddrive Service Program' instead of 'Disk Utility', etc.), with Todos I'm so much language-independent that I'm free to recognize some icon and click on it without the hassle to open up a finder window and browse through the applications folder and its subdirectories. As a Bonus it lists the english program names and does that in alphabetic order, so when the icon is not that greatly designed that it makes click once the window is up I'm at least free to look it up in maximum speed. Hooray! :)
Regarding the comments below: Current builds of Todos are listing the applications in alphabetic order and it's quite easy to zapp applications of the list (option-click).
I mostly still use Spotlight (Apple+Spacebar) and type in what app I want, hit down and then enter. 4 seconds to launch what I want and the shortcut is global so it works anywhere within OS X. Though I like the interface for this. Still tend to use Spotlight 98% of the time.
fanfanutastic little launcher app, but for earth's sake, please create a preference or means through which one can hide the window on system startup, as it does not obey the setting for this in login items.
Comment and replies on DoubleCommand:
With the 10.4-demise of uControl (gnufoo.org) and fKeys (kodachi.com) struck in private beta this is the way to go to remap your keys. (I use it to map enter to fn in order to do page-up/-down with one hand on my powerbook 12".)
Preferences could be more graphic in order to be more beginner friendly/usable -- yet maybe it's better this way: it's still a hack (Which means it's for the nerds anyway).
I use it to change the backslash key into a delete (forward backspace) on my MacBook. It is easy to start and use and is maintenance-free.
Invaluable for turning the laptop "enter" key into something actually useful. For me, it's another option key, for special characters, and for keyboard shortcuts.
Don't know why Apple still includes this key: they've already added an option for turning the caps lock into another modifier (ctrl for the Unix types), so I hope they'll offer the same option for the enter key in Leopard.
A must-have for portable users. I personally like to remap Return to Option so I can easily use Butler's iTunes control shortcuts with my right hand (I'm a left-handed mouse user), or switch tabs quickly in apps like Adium.
Neat application but be aware that 1.6.5 causes Kernel Panics at shutdown on Leopard.
There is a 1.6.6 beta for leopard that supposedly fixes this problem.

Massive kudos for the idea and for making this a freeware application but the interface is way too complicated for my liking - i'm back at editing config files.
yes complicated. i tried clicking as little as possible though and guess what? I created share points that XBMC can see!
Man! This is as simple as it can be. Thank you.
WOW! it's been a year I was searching a tool like that and finally here it is !
Haven't been able to get it working under 10.5.1, nor can I get Leopard's sharing to work with my PC network, so I miss it!
Will have to try 10.5.2 I guess.
Comment and replies on Firefly Media Server:
Wow, this has come a long, long way from mt-daapd to this. Basic operations and control sit in a neat preference pane and for the more advanced configuration options are available via a handy web interface - no more configuration file fiddeling, and way more than this: It's use is not limited to nerds and geeks anymore: Hooray!
If you're running XBMC on your XBox and want to share your extensive iTunes library, this is the way to go!
iTunes 7 encrypted their sharing, so unless you stick with iTunes 5 or 6 (which can be flaky), install this :)

'cream of the crop' as a mid 90s app directory would have put it. and agreed about the icon. thanks!
