Love that it's free. Love the pictures. love how it repeats ones I liked once in a while. Only problem is since I installed it GimmeSomeTune crashes.

Digging it now that it's free, and really seeing the value in it.

MAIN PROBLEM: crashes very often. Appears that the problem lies with APE, but I have no way to exclude desktoptopia, since it's a pref pane. HELP!

Free, great desktop pictures, but crashes a bit too much to leave running all the time. I tend to launch it when I want a new desktop, then quit it so it doesn't have a chance to freeze up.

BTW, I just wrote this script if someone want to save the current Desktop (like me).

This latest version has really made this a useable app. This is awesome, the best reason to keep expanding your music library.

I want this to work but I only get playlists from the same genre, or same album plus maybe one song totally on random. That's what Party Shuffle does..

Adding the Service Menu to the Contextual Menu is a really great idea. Now I may use that feature.

I just installed this because I was look for a way to put the Services menu in the Contextual Menu. I was hoping for something that didn't use Application Enhancer (I don't know if this one would make any significant differences to load times though) but it's implementation is great none the less.

kotrl: ICeCoffEE shouldn't affect launch times much at all. On slower machines you may notice a delay when you pop up a contextual menu the first time in a given app; this is when ICeCoffEE builds the menu. Subsequent times should be speedier.

Since installing Safari 3 Beta and breaking my lyric and artwork widgets I started using this. I actually like it so much I moved my keyboard hotkeys from Quicksilver to GimmeSomeTunes. It would be nice it it could display on the desktop level like Cover Sutra but beyond that it's a great iTunes add-on. Especially since it launches and quits with iTunes.

i would LOVE to see this have a scrobbler add. Oh.. that and a more unified mini controller... cause the one thats on here is funky when i enable it with my shapeshifer on as well. thres a white box behind the previous button, and the rest are hard to see.

I love this. And the developer is very responsive and supportive. I told him that artwork and lyrics fetching didn't work, so he sent me a pre-release which fixed all my issues.
All in all, a very nice experience!!

Is anyone else getting hardcore lag when playing song?

Awesomely awesome app. The only time it doesn't fetch lyrics is when I have an obscure album categorization. Even does Japanese artists! Truly great.

I have a problem: It doesn't fetch lyrics (covers are OK) anymore, am I the only one to have this problem? It seems to be recent.

PS: 'Lag' comes from the insertion of lyrics and cover in the tag of played track, itunes does not know how to read a file which is 'moving' (there is only one 'lag' per file, it happens near the beggining of the track only the fisrt time the file is played).

Was good. I want to love this, even donated based on its previous functionality. But lately its been substandard, failing to fetch lyrics and cover art properly. Latest glitch i've noticed is that fetched lyrics aren't being saved into the itunes file...

Like I said, was good, want to love it, hopefully there's an update on the horizon.

the 4.1 version doesn't show song notifications anymore (preferences are all set). The window only shows when i click the "show/hide gimmesometune window" from the menu item, but not when songs change. anyone else having this issue? (leopard, latest)

The latest version (4.1) is now good enough for me to replace GrowlTunes. I really like what GimmeSomeTune is turning into. Too bad it doesn't use Growl, though. Maybe it wouldn't be able to show song info as well as it does now. The new feature that was previously missing for me is the left or right alignment of its main window.
