Comment and replies on GimmeSomeTune:
i have the same problem cleveland...
GimmeSomeTune doesn't show the info window anymore when iTunes is the frontmost application, because the info is right there in the iTunes window anyways.
If the window doesn't show although iTunes isn't the frontmost application, please write me an eMail at support_AT_eternalstorms.at
Thanks.
Comment and replies on AppDelete:
AppDelete suddenly held up the tip jar after a few uses, and announced to me that it has turned shareware for this latest version. I don't have anything against the principles of paid software. I DO however find the way in which the software communicated this information rude and distasteful. The information should have been shown when I was about to update the software, not when I'm about to use it.
Hi from Reggie the Developer for AppDelete! :-)
I want to thank all of you for your posts and I do apologize for any confusion regarding the "free" label for AppDelete 2.0. I am currently waiting for this site to update the listed info and I expect it will be done soon. As for the switch over to AppDelete 2.0 again I do apologize for any confusion as it was not meant to be misleading in any way. It's just simply the old version is being told a new one is available. You can read more about this on my site by clicking the Homepage link above, and please do email me from my site for any further questions. Also there is now a 2.0.1 update available for download. Thank you for you interest and for using AppDelete! :-)
Sincerely,
Reggie Ashworth
Comment and replies on Fluid:
Developer works like a madman: Fluid updates pop-up on a regular basis. He seems really committed, and currently works on it for free. Apple themselves believe in Site Specific Browsers since they have announced a related feature for the next version of Safari in OS X 10.6. Remarkable work, this is.
Comment and replies on Growl:
Looks gorgeous with the iPhonesque theme.

I loved Growl but finally had to nuke it a few days ago. It worked great in Tiger but was nothing but a pain in the butt with Leopard. Growlmail never working was the nail in the coffin as this was my favorite use of Growl.
Is there a way to lower the volume of iTunes while playing the sound for a notification?
Minuteur does that, and it's quite useful. :)
Does someone know how to log notifications?
I'd like to log status changes from adium, like this adium plugin seems to be doing.
Comment and replies on X11:
There is so much progress on this app suddenly, now that a true community has been built around the Mac version, that it's almost making me dizzy. What a change of pace, compared to what came before. Things couldn't be better for X11.
It is really great to see this under active development at the moment. Go Jeremy!
Comment and replies on NetNewsWire:
Please bear no mind to my previous comment, I was still fuming from my misadventure. That, and was in rotten mood. I should have waited a while to cool off, and communicate with the developer via the Customer Feedback page (https://www.newsgator.com/feedback.aspx?product=netnewswire) to see if it's an issue which can be dealt with more efficiently.
Mod my previous comment down, to oblivion. I would, if I could.
it's really good it became free, I didn't use it before (I used Mail.app for rss) but NNW is probably RSS reader out there
download link is broken. It is the cat's ___ (literally). Here's the new one...

The app is great BUT the killer feature is the NewsGator Online that sync with the app !!!
Comment and replies on RadioTuner:
Eh, ever since Apple added "web clips" in Safari, I've used that instead. Simply make sure to un-click the "Play audio in Dashboard" option to activate persistent radio.
Not much of a fan of RealPlayer either. If I can avoid install it, all the better. I'm not married to BBC Radio, so all the better (the BBC uses RealPlayer formats for its international streams, a very foolish thing to do).
Comment and replies on iClip lite:
iClip lite 2.0.1, the current version, is broken in Leopard. Hopefully the developpers will release an update eventually.
Comment and replies on Google Notifier:
Latest version (1.9.100) apparently defaults to an acceptable security level, finally. It is highly recommended to use a secure http connection (https) when accessing a web-based mailbox.
Besides that, works lovely and simply, with all needed options in the preference pane. Installer is of an unconventional nature though, which could irritate a certain type of user.

The latest version (4.1) is now good enough for me to replace GrowlTunes. I really like what GimmeSomeTune is turning into. Too bad it doesn't use Growl, though. Maybe it wouldn't be able to show song info as well as it does now. The new feature that was previously missing for me is the left or right alignment of its main window. Matthias Gansrigler, you're doing great work!
