How about just a LAME front end, excluding the whole iTunes integration. I know there is MAX...but maybe something that could be lighter...
Also check iTunes-LAME by Quicksilver author. It's out of beta.
Note: the recommended lame version is currently 3.97.

Groan... another app that is little more than a glorified shell for the encryption service. Everything this app can do and more can be done in Disk Utility.
The effects are nice but like the two before me already said, everything this tool can do you can do with Disk Utility too.
You can do the same with disk utility but this app just turns it easier for some people. and with most better "look&feel".
The latest version is 1.2 (not 1.1.4). You may confirm that in the application's website.

WTF.... someone actually wrote a program to do something you can accomplish just by dragging the url into the dock??
I have to agree. This is ridiculous.
No its not. Its completely and utterly ridiculous.
On the MacHeist site, the person who made this said that the only difference between this and the result of dragging the url to the dock is that this doesn't have to sit next to the trash. That, and this is way slower.
Comment and replies on Big Bang Board Games:
Very impressive design, unfortunately they are somewhat lacking as games, at least for the chess game. They seem to have payed more attention to implementing the design than implementing a competent AI or the full rules of chess (neglecting things like en passant). Okay for kids or the extremely casual gamer. I no use this anymore.
Wish I knew how to find online opponents.
The games are all style and no substance. The style eventually gets in the way, and I went looking for superior, free implementations of the games. Further, the games won't run on a case-sensitive file system.
Comment and replies on Gimp.app:
I think gimp.app is distinct from regular ol' GIMP in that it is specifically compiled an optimized for OS X. Hence the .app in the title is more than appropriate.
Gimp rocks
Any application ported to Mac OS gets the .app, it's pointless
I don't agree that .app should be removed from the application name. Aside from its dependence on X11, it is a standalone application. As such, it should be distinguished from "The Gimp" packages that are available in MacPorts or Fink. Those versions are direct ports, and require the installation of additional libraries such as GTK. Oh, and the sourceforge project that is linked above is called "Gimp.app"
Some useful information:
A universal binary is available.
X11 is required.
I love the GIMP. It's always felt hacked together, but in a fun way (Script-Fu!) All the hipsters are cruising around in stolen Photoshop CS2 Ferraris, while I chill out in my '95 GIMP Volvo. Free of charge, free of guilt. Give it a try.
Time to update to the new version and icon. Maybe point to a more relevant developer page too ( http://www.gimp.org or http://wilber-loves-apple.org ).
