For the record, I'm someone who marked "bruce" as a troll. If he isn't the author of the vitriol that is rixstep.com he should apply to be an understudy. He's got everything it takes.
Mr. Jalkut seems a fine developer who is constantly trying to improve upon what he has, and he provides excellent support. What more can we ask for as consumers? Sure, I could complain that CS3 doesn't come with a discount off my weekly grocery shopping but, realistically, the price is the price (and I don't think it's too much) and I wish people would either pay the money or walk away...
That said, I feel it's only fair to point out I haven't purchased Black Ink (my opinion of Mr. Jalkut comes from my dealings with him over MarsEdit). And, no, it's not because he's the devil in disguise (it's true, he is, I read it on http://rixstep.com), nor is it because the software is overpriced that I haven't purchased Black Ink. It's simply because I prefer cryptic crosswords. Which, for the record, I pay about $40 for. Per year.
If you like this program, I say buy it. If you don't like it, or you don't think it's worth the money... be happy you had the opportunity to try something else, rather than bitter that it wasn't everything you dreamt it would be [for the money].
PS. Frak me it's a good splash screen, though. Worth at least $15.
Hooray for people being able to express themselves freely! I'm not saying you have to agree with me. In fact, if you don't, that's GREAT! But you're not going to change my mind by calling me names and burying my comment.

B52 is a dev release. You can enable prerelease candidates in the version checking in the app if you turn on advanced features, and you can also download the latest dev release with http://www.getqs.com/dev. That said, it is a dev release, so download at your own risk.
Note: when installing it says that the beta will stop working after 6 months. I haven't had the time to search to know what it will become then, does anyone know?
This is what spotlight should have been!! The best demonstration of the power of OSX!!!
Anyone know what happened to blacktree.com? Reinstalled Quicksilver but have no plugins and no updates. Seems the server has been down for the past few days.
There's a post here, but no further information afaik at the moment: http://www.43folders.com/forum/2007/10/26/blacktree-account-suspendedanyone-know-about#comments
so no word yet on when they're going to be back up and running? i downloaded QS from a mirror, but without being able to install any plugins, it's not nearly as useful.
Quicksilver is now open source: http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-alchemy/
have you noticed the App site has changed it's structure ?
simply: http://blacktree.com/
If you want to download plugins, you'll need the latest version, ß53.
Open Source Qucksilver. The glove has fallen. The wind has changed. This app will be around forever. Good call!
essential app.
After using this app for several weeks with the Constellaton plug-in, I truly am a believer in Quicksilver.
The homepage should be changed to http://www.blacktree.com/
Wish Arne & Marcus could put up an "I love/hate this" button. Sure, Quicksilver is pretty nifty. It also is the most likely offender whenever my computer starts behaving badly. Today Safari started hanging on what a sample revealed to be an ABAcquireFileLock call. After a while I noticed Mail was hanging as well, with the cryptic message "searching for sender's image" in the activity window.
Looking in the Console I noticed the error "Couldn't reopen AddressBook database. Home directory may not be ready or is missing" was repeated every second. It took some time googling (on Firefox, since Safari wouldn't start) before I found this article naming Quicksilver as the culprit. Killing with extreme prejudice solved the situation. From now on I think I'll stick to Butler which does 99% of the same thing without the hassle.
Pressing Cmd-Space and having Spotlight pop up now feels just wrong. Quicksilver integrates itself into every process of your Mac if you want it to, and it feels like another part of the OS. Couldn't live without it; trust me, I tried.

Bruce, you seem to be of the opinion that just because you can't afford to pay $25 ("we're not all dripping with cash"), you think that software should be priced cheaper. That's a preposterous position to take. Would you complain that all blenders should cost $10 because you can't afford $40? Or say good HDTVs should cost $100 because you can't afford $1500? You are not entitled to have software. It's a luxury. The fact of the matter is, if $25 was less profitable than $10, it would cost $10. Being mad that someone is behaving in their own best self interest is ridiculous.
