Brilliant program, I use it for ripping all my audio.

Great app! Rips to endless formats, uses LAME and allows automagic import into iTunes - thus the best way to get LAME encoded MP£s into iTunes with the minimum fuss. It did crash on me once.

only problem I've had with this app is that it didn't fully tag my ID3 tags, well, for year and genre at least. I know this could be done manually, buttt, when ripping cds to my collection, it'd be nice if it could tag everything so I wouldn't have to double check. This could be because it uses MusicBrainz for its tagging (though I'm not sure)

This is the ripping application Mac users waited for. Doing all possible formats…simultaneously!

Note: the recommended vorbis encoder is aoTuV Beta 5, since june 2007.

Apparently Max uses aoTuV Release 1 (changelog says 1.0), but I couldn't confirm by checking the file tag, as I don't currently have on Mac OS any software that could let me see the encoder version tag. I guess there must be a command line binary that would show this.

What's with the release date, 1-1-1970?

lol cbserra

I don't know who keeps changing the release date. 0.7.1 was released Jan 19th 2007 ...not a day earlier in 2008 like it says right now.

0.7.1 has a problem on MacOS 10.5 Leopard. Use 0.8b ("unstable" release) instead.

My favorite, but unfortunately no support for LAME 3.98 yet... :(
