Comment and replies on Transmission:
Lightyears ahead of Azureus in terms of taking up less computer power and maintaining connections. Torrents download significantly faster with it as well. 5/5 stars.
better than µtorrent, and it really looks great too
Nice app.
I love it.
Transmission is fatastic!! I have a firewalled internet connection but it works perfectly! :)
Absolutely easy and transparent. ****
Each new build is better than the prior. The collapsible label stacks are great for those who are very particular about torrent organization.
Transmission has completely recovered from the 0.9x wobbles, and recent versions are really excellent.
great torrent-client. the only client that is better is utorrent for windows
Now with preliminary Proxy-to-tracker support (does NOT use proxy for peer-to-peer communication, only to tracker) in nightly builds (as of 1.22+) (http, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 support).
Also, there is now a blocklist in the shipping builds (but it must be updated manually).
Transmission just keeps getting better.
Awesome. The best BitTorrent application for the Mac by far.
Hard to believe it's a cross-platform app.
Still missing DHT... DHT = faster downloads. Sometimes I prefer to use uTorrent on CrossOver :)
Comment and replies on Sibelius:
I've used this in the past. It's a very powerful, professional program. Good for classical music, but not so much for newer styles, ie blues or rock. Quality of sound for instruments depends on the quality of the sound library. Writing for non-classical guitar and getting it to play the sounds in your head can be tricky, but 7 times out of 10 it gets the point across. The UI leaves some things to be desired; mostly point-and-click. Records to various file formats, as well as to an audio CD. Very nice, I reccomend it.
Expensive though.
Comment and replies on Stop Dashboard Widget:
Omahgawd. This widget belongs on your dashboard. If you play any kind of system-intensive games (for me, Quake 4), than you NEED this widget. It really is invaluable. Excellent. I give it 5 *****.
Awesome. While the dashboard and all the widgets take up relatively little resources, I have self-updating ones and process-hogging ones that also self-update. I love having them, but they choose the WORST times to update (usually in the midst of a big online battle. Thank you, Murphy).
This really is (IMO) the best solution for killing the dashboard. It's still available on command, but click a button, and it goes away completely.
Here's the AppleScript that does exactly the same thing:
tell application "Dock"
quit
launch
end tell
not quite hansome enough 4 me. i use main menu. it gives loads of different tools like this stored up in ur menu. u should try it
Comment and replies on LED Spectrum Analyser:
This plugin looks outdated. :( It won't function with my current version of iTunes (7.0.2) , and hasn't been updated in 3 years. It's a shame, cus it looks really cool.
Looks like Graham Cox moved his home from http://www.maczoop.com to http://www.apptree.net/
Has recently been updated and is now universal ;)

Download this. You need it; you just don't know it yet. I used the free version for the first time today, when I realized my HD was nearly full. I used it to free up a whole 5GB! Definately one of my favorite apps.
