Great little app. Works well, intuitive, and has a quality feel to it.

I've been using it for years, and I agree that it used to be unstable, especially back in early 2005. That said I haven't had stability problems for awhile, despite multiple OS upgrades and a transition to Intel. It's got a great interface and is probably the best P2P client I've ever used on either Win or Mac.

Version 2 seems like a downgrade.

- the preview function no longer works
- uploads are no longer listed
- still as unstable as ever, connection drops after 5 minutes, hangs on quit
- more obtrusive "buy now!!!!11!!" dialog and more limitations
- uglier icon

And to add insult to injury he's charging another $24 to version 1 owners, minimum.

It does look pretty though....

The fact that uploads are no longer listed is a major problem with this version. Why pay for an application that doesnt list them when you can get other that do for free. Are they needed? YES they are. It's useful. When such a simple thing isnt there, it makes me feel this is broken.

It is still unstable, it still drops connection and it still crashes /hangs on quit. All things that should been fixed long ago.

ernesto_a10: it is shareware agreed, but when the dev lured people in with promises of "free updates for life" and then tries to charge $24 to upgrade from v1 to v2, then he is a LIAR.

The icon ok, but the nagware has gottten a whole lot worse.

Honestly, there are free apps that do the same thing and better. Why pay for this garbage?

How come every positive comment on this app has bad ratings? Someone is devoting her or his life to negative thoughts. I will give it a try and I will try my best to like it. Over 1300 users can't be that wrong.

@apple098: If you can give me a native, universal, P2P Mac app, then I'll hug you. I've been looking for one ever since I got my first Mac back in 2006.

Don't pay for piracy apps. Dave is a leech to the mac software community, greedily making a profit off of a system that's purpose is to let people have things for free.

The only reason you would pay for this is if you didn't know any better. Use acqlite, it's back in town, and does everything this app does :)

For the price, I think iBank beats Quicken for simple personal accounting. It's not overwhelming and is quite flexible, though I've had some occasional file corruptions. The smart import rules are great and the budget moniter is quite handy.

This is a great mid-level personal finance management program. It does not have all of the features of Quicken, but many people do not have a use for many of the more advanced Quicken functions. You also don't have to pay every year if you want the latest update.

iBank is built for the Mac. Quicken seems to have no interest in ever attempting to integrate itself with OSX. Other apps are attempting to fill this gap along with iBank, but iBank has the best features at the moment.

I thought I found the perfect money manger... but it is BUGGY! I've had random iBank crashes and the setup assistance freezes on me.

Seems pretty cool. I'm not one for reading manuals or help-files but I haven't needed to yet with iBank. That's not to say it's ultra-sleek but it certainly packs a whole lot of features - more than I'm every likely to use. The price appears to have gone up to $49.99 now but that seems fairly reasonable considering what it's likely to save you in the long run.

Buggy, buggy, buggy. Slow when loading up data at startup, too. Interface is ok, handling "splits" is completely horrid. These guys need some lessons in interface design. Feels way too unpolished for a $50 app.

I have been using this software for about a month now and never had a crash yet. Also, it has some things I wish could be different but the support forum for requests is always watch so I see alot of those features I want will prob. be in the next version (since a lot of others are requesting the same things). Much better then quicken for mac!

I hate to leave negative comments - but this is a loathsome piece of software, with no intelligence when it comes to dealing with the fundamentals of importing downloaded accounts (learn how to read dates), dealing with foreign currencies (I do not use dollars, this must be hard to understand). Now I know a dozen people are going to jump in and talk about how they don't have these issues, but these problems have been there for in every version I've tried.

Wow, iBank 3 is a huge improvement over version 2! I dropped Jumsoft Money (they wouldn't listen to bug reports, horrible customer support) and purchased iBank 3. Very happy with it! Syncs data w/ iPhone too!

I stopped using iBank 2 once both iBank 3 and MoneyDance 2008 came out and the choice was to pay a hefty upgrade fee or use something else for similar price. I found the changes for iBank 3 to be bells and whistles (like coverflow), and still doesn't have even rudimentary graphs. Moneydance's reporting and graphs makes it much more valuable to me. Goodbye iBank (for now).
