after serverskine somehow lost its (my) data... i'm in search for an equivalent easy and slick product. i hope it turns out to be safe!
Comment and replies on TaskPaper:
This is absolutely the GTD app I've been looking for. Simple, works great, can't wait for the final release (writing this at v0.2).
Pretty cool! I like the simplicity of the approach. Probably, I won't be able to implement my GTD workflow with this app, but it gets the job done for small lists.
I use this every day at the moment and find it really good. It's simple beyond belief and seems to work well enough bar a couple of bugs here and there.
It's good but it's not $18.95 good, shame. Will have to find something else...
rossag - There is a Vim plugin that mimics TaskPaper available from the Hog Bay Software Products page (There is one for TextMate as well but TextMate costs money and it seems you are seeking a free alternative).
Thanks for the heads up. I want to make it clear though that I am not simply after a free bit of software but instead something that has a price that reflects the product. I was very much keen on buying this, even though it is still in its infancy – I think it's a good product.
HogBay is willing to provide an academic discount (25% off, as remarked at the forums for students, so that should alleviate the issue of cost to a certain extent.
very slick. integration with Leopard's task-server on the horizon? sync with iphone?
This is a great little program. I'm a big fan. It's nice and simple so you don't waste too much time getting it set up how you like.
Am I missing something? I tried to use this for a few days, but dropped it. Should you be able to get a list of all projects without tasks? I really want that.
I do certainly like the idea. And I especially like that the files it creates can be edited in any text editor. But... I guess it's just not quite enough.
@patlaj - Keep an eye out for the next version... maybe next month or two... development versions can be downloaded from my forums now. Among other things it will give you a number of ways to show all projects in a single list.

Great little timesaver. Definitely worth keeping in the dock, setting up sites when you're working locally.
Very nice, very handy, very cheap.
Is there any way of changing the default port to something other than 9000? Google Desktop uses that so it's a small inconvenience.
Simply one of the best Mac - application
Comment and replies on BetterZip:
So far, so good. Went looking for a better compression tool when I got tired of waiting for Stuffit to release a Universal Binary, and this is pretty slick so far. Kinda miss having the automation/integration of Stuffit, but this makes up the difference in more options to handle archives, a much more Mac-friendly interface, and not running a series of PowerPC processes in the background. Good times.
Far and away the best Zip/archive program for the Mac. Compare this to its only competition which is Stuffit Deluxe at $80 and you can agree this is a must-have program.
BetterZip is the "gold standard" in Mac OS zip/archive software with support for more formats and a clean UI. It's truly the WinZip of the Mac platform.
Great app, but way too expensive.
I think they would sell more of it (and ultimately make more money) if it were under 10 dollars.

So many of these around but, sorry, they're ugly. As a Mac snob I require shiny, and Steel provides that plus most of the right features that should be in a password app. (Although please add password masking and a Cmd-C for copying passwords to the clipboard.)
