Sadmac i guess you never heard of mercury messenger, because i've been doing video chat with my windows friends for quite a while now useing mercury.
As a matter of fact there are some of my windows friend that i have problems sending vid to when i use amsn. When that happens i simply swish to mercury and i have no problems what so ever.

Hey, Guys... does anyone know if this aMSN supports an iSight cam?

I have never tried Mercury, no. I'll give it a look, thanks for the tip. More choice is never a bad thing.

aMSN works with my built-in iSight on my MacBook, for the record. Not sure about external Firewire iSight cameras.

It also works with the USB MacAllly IceCam on my G4 tower.

This is nice if you want support for video or audio via msn, but other than that Adium beats it hands down.

Nice, but it seems to lock up very frequently, so I'd use Adium over it any day...

i like this. Because it can use isight for video chat. Normally, i use adium. :-)

I use aMSN only for the isight feature - usually I much prefer Adium. Any other good messenger programs out there allow the use of iSight?

Only reason I use it is because it can receive MSN's "Offline Messages", and even then it seems horribly slow on my MBP. Adium's still my primary IM program.

Skype does it for me wrt video-chat.

When Microsoft answered that they had stop supporting WMP, I downloaded this app and nothing worked. I got rid. About 2 days ago i decided to give it another try so far it seems to be working.

DOES NOT decode a large proportion of streams. For instance, go here http://www.ed.ac.uk/explore/av/gifford/ and click the first link for the Chomsky Video (the second link is audio only).
Flip4mac pro simply states "invalid transport" as does real player (what the Univ Edinburgh recommends).
Using WMP however, results in flawless playback of the stream.
Ditto hundreds of other wmv files I've come across on the net.

Not too impressive then :(

I don't know about the earlier comments about this not working. I have yet to run across a WMV file it wouldn't play. Fairly smooth integration into browsers via QuickTime.

Certain wmv files can take an age to open (over a minute). Otherwise seems to work with most stuff.

It's a useful plugin, but i really wish .wmv would die...

I'd happily pay $4 for a gallon of gas if ALL Windows Media Formats would die a horrible and painful public death... Die WMV! DIE!!!! Quicktime, anf Flash are all ANYONE needs.

Until then.. I'll use this helpful lil app.

This is already listed in this website, under "Flip4Mac WMV" (with more than 4000 users).
There's no need for this second entry.

That one didn't come up in AppFresh, so I thought it might be a slightly different version.

People at I Use This:
Why don't you delete this entry of Flip4Mac WMV and add these users to the more than 4000 users of the original post?
