Frankly, I liked the simplicity of the old version better. None of this export-to-save thing. I'll export it when I need, and not a moment sooner. Less files to keep track of that way.

Besides, free is way better. ^^

@sarahwynne: Hmm, I can just hit File>Save or Cmd-S to save. I don't have to export to save. Care to elaborate?

I couldn't find this question on the comments here, so apologies if its already been asked. What's the "catch" with an unlicensed version? Is it timebombed? I couldn't find any "you only get feature X, Y, and Z with the unlicensed version" blurb anywhere. Can anyone explain what the purchase incentive is?

The developer writes about the differences between free/purchased on his forum: "At the moment the only difference is the nag screen that shows up on startup, and the good general feeling that you'll get buy buying it and supporting my work"

Just... bizarre. It does what it says it does, but really, that's not much, which is the whole point I guess - a full screen text editor. Likeable in a weird way.

The new "Edit in WriteRoom" feature is nice, but it has some limits:
- in Safari: can't edit a message in gmail.
- in Mail.app: accentuated letters are messed up if format is rich text (fine if plain text).

Fantastic view of the world as never before given. Knowledge is truly free.

Quite slow on my machine, Powerbook G4; I often have to shut all other apps before running Google Earth. Best on very fast connections, but definitely worth the wait.

From macosxhints.com:

"I just read in a German online magazine that Google Earth contains a "hidden" yet complete flight simulator! Currently, two jets are available (F16 and SR22), and also the list of airports is not that long. Just open Google Earth (you'll need the newest version, 4.2), and then type Command-Option-A."

This is my main browser. Love that it's Firefox-based, so all my extensions are compatible. It also saves me the trouble of downloading external delicious and flickr apps, as well as going to WP every time I blog. A little slow, but not too noticable.

Flock + Asus Eee PC = All I'd ever need.

I just started using this a week ago and find I'm liking it better than safari. It integrates my web accounts (well some of them). I'd recommend it for anyone who likes Firefox but likes to be a little lazy.

Ok, I was looking for a kool browser for Mac and I find it, actually I use Opera as my main browser, and today adopted Flock as my second browser, the fighting for the first place is closed ;).

Hands down, this is the best simple and free FTP application I have ever seen. Easy-to-use GUI, and works well on my Powerbook G4.

Am I the only one who finds this app rather sluggish and crash-prone? I use it when i need to because I can't find anything better for free, but it's hardly an app I enjoy using.

brian, i do find it takes quite a while to load. otherwise i do use it very frequently and have never had it crash. the interface is also put together very nicely and it fits in with the os x gui just like a good cocoa app should.

I don't have any problems with load time or stability, and I think its pretty great for a free app, however, IMHO Transmit from Panic is worth shelling out for.

Still, if you don't use it a ridiculously large amount, Cyberduck certainly gets the job done.

I've used this program without issue for about 5 months but suddently it's constantly giving me "failed connection" errors whilst command line FTP works fine.

Is there a way to move a file from a remote folder to a local folder in one step? I tried dragging and cutting a file, but it didn't work.

This is getting progressively slower and less reliable (for me) with every version. Shame, as its the only Mac FTP client with a reasonable interface (at least until Flow is released).

I moved to MacFusion. That one covers my (S)FTP needs better than Cyberduck.
