Awesome app — thanks! I couldn't resist creating a 'coffee cup' replacement icon-set for the menu-bar. I'll forward it onto Lighthead for their consideration, too. In the meantime, you can download the icons and replace them yourself.

Right-click on the app. Select 'Show Package Contents'. Navigate to the 'Contents' and then the 'Resources' folder. Create a backup of all the '.png' images in that folder. Then, copy-paste the replacements in. Restart Caffeine. Use at your own risk. ;-)

It would be nice if Caffeine remembered its previous state (like Nocturne does).
This way you would just have to launch and quit the app to toggle the 'cafféine' mode, thus saving some space in the menu bar when Caffeine isn't n used.

Genius, beautifully done.

I don't want to be a nitpick (especially since I love this program), but from a usability perspective, the new menubar icon isn't clear enough to display the actions of the toggle. It may be prettier to look at, but it's not the best choice from a gui usability point of view, as there is not enough of a direct visual connection between a cup of coffee and the screen going to sleep.

Caffeine is great. I can't imagine something so simple and so useful. Free and tiny to boot. I do miss the ZZZ. Oh well.

A non intrusive great little does-as-you-wish app for when you want to keep your computer from sleeping that works well. What more can I say?

my only wish is that it could also stop sleep when you close the laptop, like how InsomniaX does.

It crashed frequently, so I e-mailed the dev'. I got a prompt (and friendly) response and was informed the company was aware of an issue with last.fm integration. However, that was some months ago and there hasn't been an update/fix since.

I disabled last.fm integration not long after that e-mail, but the app still frequently crashes whenever I quit iTunes (requiring a force quit via Activity Monitor).

So, I'm considering CoverSutra, or another similar app as a replacement.

PS. It should noted the Menuet companion app, 'Art Collector', is quite useful.

Haven't had any problems with this app. Use it all the time. Particularly like the last.fm integration... saves me having to load an additional "scrobbling" app.

I used this application for the longest time, and gladly gave money to a charity when the change to charityware happened. But I was disappointed with its issues and cannot recommend it now that it is no longer in active development. I have since switched to Coversutra but have frequent problems with the growl support that workes so nicely in Menuet. Can't win them all I guess...
