Been using this for a few days as I don't have my external hard-drive with full iTunes library plugged in. I love it! Sure, they could add playlists and a bunch of other features, but I don't think I'd like it as much. It's small, fast and hasn't crashed or stuttered once. I donated via their website.
Comment and replies on FoneLink:
I have message2net (also by NovaMedia) and use it many times per day. I just downloaded the trial for FoneLink and it seems really cool, going way beyond just SMSing and contact management. The features I like are iTunes syncing (with conversion/downsampling), ringtone creator, backup and the file explorer. I do find the trial version to be somewhat limited for testing out easily.
Comment and replies on Hourly:
I tried out Hourly up until my trial expired. I like it but the $67 USD price tag puts this out of reach for me. A pity really.
On another note, the developer was friendly and understanding when I emailed him to let him know my thoughts.
Edit: just noticed they're doing a promo so it's only $30 USD to buy now.
Comment and replies on Adium:
While Adium is quite an achievement, I still find it quite infuriating. No other IM client seems to drop connections/timeout as often as Adium. Showing of MSN custom emoticons and users' photos is intermittent. File transfers are painfully slow. Despite having numerous customisation options I just don't like the look/feel of it. Lack of video is a pity too. Adium is great - there is nothing that competes - but it's far from perfect.
@sleggat I've used Adium for close to 5 years now and haven't experienced the dropped connections that you speak of. However I must agree and say the file transfers are incredibly slow. So slow I don't even bother accepting them anymore.
They should just give us a better file transfer, then it would be perfect for my needs
Very customizable and reliable... also saves me from having multiple chat apps open at once.
There are a couple annoying things about it (when you paste in a link, you'll see the link text, but the other person will only see the URL, for one - especially annoying with Wikipedia), but overall it's a really nice app, and it's simplified my IMing a whole lot. Now I can be on 5 IM accounts with just 1 program!
This app totally rocks. Is there any chance they will include the google talk libraries for doing audio? Then I won't have to use iChat anymore!
Audio chat support won't come anytime soon. It was planned to lay down the foundations during this summer, but that project got cancelled:

Maybe next year.
Adium is fantastic. So customizable, so dependable, so subtle. And A/V might be enough to fend off the oncoming Trillian!
Is anybody having a problem with MSN contacts? Whenever mine log off, they disappear from my list. They are there again if I do a sign off-and-on, (or if they log back on), but this just sort of "bugs" me. :D Any ideas?
I agree that file transfers are slow, but I've never had a problem with Adium otherwise and I've been using it for maybe 3 years now. I love this app!
There's an update on audio and video development status on the adium blog.
They still don't give any date estimates though.
Why the downgrade to 1.1.3? 1.1.4 is the current version and the info here was updated to reflect that yesterday.
Erm, yeah, why was 1.1.4 posted twice and then downgraded back to 1.1.3?
Good app, does what it says on the can. The problem is that the services it supports are rather backwards. I used to be a big Adium user, now I centralized everything on skype which offers audio and video chat.

Looks like a nice simple font conversion app. Tried it out and it seems to work nicely. Price listed on website is $99.
