@oldsystem: No, Perian will not interfere with Flip4Mac's WMV Player

Now with preliminary Proxy-to-tracker support (does NOT use proxy for peer-to-peer communication, only to tracker) in nightly builds (as of 1.22+) (http, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 support).
Also, there is now a blocklist in the shipping builds (but it must be updated manually).

Transmission just keeps getting better.

Awesome. The best BitTorrent application for the Mac by far.

Hard to believe it's a cross-platform app.

Still missing DHT... DHT = faster downloads. Sometimes I prefer to use uTorrent on CrossOver :)

@jaxsedrin:

The Transmission nightlies now have built in blocklist support (but if you don't want to use the default, you have to mess with it a bit).

Requires you to run with admin privileges. So it's useless to me (and probably some others too). I think the OS X version isn't quite there yet. Needs work

Does an incredible job of converting out of .mkv for a tricky job (ones that vlc has trouble opening), but currently it does not seem to respect the size of the video or its aspect ratio, and in some cases cuts off parts of both the sides and the top, then incorrectly sets the aspect ratio.

Otherwise, it does a great job with audio and it's dead simple.

It created a HUGE database file which contained a list of all my applications. It was over 150 mb. That reeks of a sloppy system. There is no way that having less than 200 items in a database (even with icons) should create a database that huge. Also, the pop-up advertisement is very annoying.

With the previous version (1.5.1) it was possible to add folders by drag & drop. Version 2.0 does not allow it. (And the application crashed when I tried to do it.) I want to add iWork '08 as one single item, because the licence key is the same for Pages, Numbers & Keynote. So, there's no need for three different entries. But this new version of RapidoSerial does not allow it. Selecting individual apps, you cannot add folders. By drag & drop, it does not work.
Please bring back the functionality of the older version!

Go to http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-secrets/ for the latest version. (At the time of writing it is 1.0b14)

It tries to acquire from the web the updated list of secret preferences on every launch, and when the site is down, you can't use this prefpane, the list you can see in the screenshot is just empty... And the site has been down (AFAIK without interruption) for 2 months.

As with Quicksilver, it looks like Blacktree projects have stopped completely.

Much more convenient than OnyX for these sorts of things.

I am not going to mess with this app anymore; it is confusing, potentially harmful to your airport card, and the moderator on the support forums is an impatient, degrading prick. I'm going to continue my use of AirRadar, because it is user-friendly and is constantly being updated with new features.

@bgower:

1. Open preferences.

2. Open the "Driver" preference pane.

3. Select "Apple Airport Extreme card, passive mode" (or the non-extreme option if that is what you have. Click "Add".

4. Close Preferences.

5. Click "Start Scan" in the main window.

6. Enter your admin password if prompted.

For most people, thats how you get 99% of the functionality you're looking for.

@bgower: airradar is not the same as kismac, kismac is not for just finding networks, it is for gaining access...
