I'm curious about that "trickie"...

Beautiful this app may be, but unless you only subscribe to a small handful of feeds it simply isn't designed to handle the load.

I bought this app way back when it was still a shareware title... good app, loved using it. They only thing I hated is that it couldn't sync my feeds between my macpro and my macbook... which is why I switched to newsnetwire when it became free... newgator syncs it all... BUT I do like the interface and the way it blends into the OS... if only there was a way to sync newsgator with newsfire...

The description of this application is not correct.
WavePad is a sound edtior for Windows AND FOR MAC too. Otherwise, there would be no reason to post it in this website.
The name of this website is "I Use This". And after this name you can read "for Mac".
If this app was for Windows only, it would be out of place here. For the same reasom that Mac-only apps are out of place in Windows-only software sites.
Maybe the user who posted this here could correct the description.

This is included in Microsoft Office 2008.
I suppose there's no other way to get this app alone.

Just because some apps are used by "a minuscle audience" (as you call it), it doesn't mean that they are not used. And if they are used even by one single person, they deseve to be here. That's the way to make them known to a wider audience. And you know what? They ALL begin here with just one single user. All of them, without one single exception!
People are all different. What appeals to you may not appeal to any other person. And that does not mean that you are right and the others are wrong.

thats my opinion. i posted it. its a program especially for prepress but i am working with it 10-12h/day. so why not showing it public what i am spending most time for?

its a form of discrimination. games are nothing really useful and they are still here.

you don't know how many people using preps. most of them don't know that this website exist - thats the only reason nobody posted preps before.

Yes, Marcus, you're right. This is an English language site.
I think I understand why the description of this widget was posted in French: this is a RSS aggregator for a French website with tips about Macintosh. So, if you don't read French, you won't need this widget. But I agree with you when you say that it should be posted in English (this website's janguage).
However, I cannot aggre with ravon when he asked for a description in "an international language". English is almost the "universal" language now-a-days (i agree), but iit's not the only international language. And my intention when I wrote my first post was to call attention to this, I had no other intention.
So, I cannot accept yuccaplant's attitude of insuting me (mistaking me for a French) or insulting the French language and those who speak it. That's intolerable!
Chauvinist? As I wrote before, I'm not even French. And my second language has always been English.
His post includes the most unacceptable words I've ever read in I Use This. If it is not xenophobia, I don't know what to call it.
Instead of marking the posts that "condemned" his attitude with "spams" (-2 points), he should show some really smart attitude and apologize. Apologizing is not a sign of weakness; it's a sign of intelligence. And if he is really an intelligent person, he should have already noticed that he's gone too far and apologize for that.

@ tee_cee
Once again, I think you're absolutely right!
What that guy wrote is unaccepatble in I Use This or anywhere alse. I think Marcus should take care, or someday this website will be invaded by posts just like: "LOL... Gr8 avatar U got there, man! I'm gonna get me 1 like that 2."
As the King of Spain would say to yuccapalnt: "Porque no te callas!"
Better translate, 'cos he doesn't seems to understand anything but English: "Why don't you shut up?"

Let me give you a free translation of the description:
"Here's a widget that will keep you informed about the latest guiles."
Stuut is a French website with tips about the Mac. Something like A New Mac Tip Every Day, MacTips or Leopard Tricks. This widget is a reader for that website's RSS feed.
(And no... It was not me who posted it here.)

el_cravito is right: the latest version is 1.3.
I wonder why nobody has made the correction yet.
Hey, Marcus... It's your turn now!

marcus, 2007-11-15

ok, this apps appcast (http://vcardexplorer.corefault.de/appcast.xml) is missing dates, which makes it impossible for iut to determine which version is the latest. I've removed the appcast now, and reverted the app back to 1.3

Nice. Suggestion (since the developer's blog is in German, writing it here):

Add an option to set vCE as the default app for all vCards/hCards. Sure, it can be done other ways (i.e. MoreInternet), but it would be nice to have a single click solution from within the app.

I have added a bug and request formular on the projects website: http://vce.corefault.de/index.php?support

el_cravito is right!
There's no version 1.0.7 of Pathway anywhere.
The latest version is 1.0.6. (Just check in the appplication's website.)

by
marcus, 2007-09-12

hmm, okay. I find it strange that 1.07 seem to have an actualy changelog ( Added

  • Japanese localization (thanks to Yoshimitsu Mori!)

Fixed

  • A critical bug that would prevent saving a document in some cases in 1.0.6.

) but I removed it for now anyways

@ zacks:
Why don't you try the newest version of Vienna (2.2.0.2201)?
It has a fantastic new interface (without the brushed metal look), it's fast and includes all the features you need. And it's also free!
You'll find it here:
