Great job on the 0.6 update - the performance and stability both took a major step forward with this new release! I've been using AppFresh for about six months now and find it to be an indispensable tool for keeping track of the 180 (and growing) applications in my Mac arsenal. Many thanks!
Currently, there is an issue related to Microsoft AutoUpdate 2 (shipped wit MS Office 2008) that, if installed, keeps AppFresh from working properly. If you have that installed and AppFresh keeps crashing, please try ‘defaults write de.metaquark.appfresh IUEnableMicrosoftAutoUpdate FALSE’ in your console and start AppFresh. A fix will be released soon.
Please update to AppFresh 0.6.2 or download it from http://metaquark.de/download/appfresh - if you ran ‘defaults write de.metaquark.appfresh IUEnableMicrosoftAutoUpdate FALSE’ please now run ‘defaults delete de.metaquark.appfresh IUEnableMicrosoftAutoUpdate’ once to restore default behaviour - it doesn’t crash anymore.
Why does it delete my ENTIRE desktop when it's done installing?
dbreunig, please update to AppFresh 0.6.3, which fixes this problem. You can also recover your Desktop contents from the Trash.
Updates don't work anymore. Something is downloaded somewhere, but nothing really happens at all...
@hbokh please update to 0.7, this problem has been fixed
Every time I scan the applications, it finds another copy of front-row. Also, some applications like DVD Player and iPhoto show how many people use it, but I only have the option to "add" the application, even though I've registered them to my profile.
Great and invaluable app, but still got some bugs to work out. Keep on working on developers!
Hmmm... ClamXav found Exploit.URLSpoof.gen in ~/Libary/Application Support/AppFresh/PersistentStore.sqlite on my system.
First let me say I find your program very promising. But I encountered a problem with the Big Bang Board Games included with my MacBook: even when I group the individual applications and change the iUseThis identifier to "Big Bang Board Games" the group or individual programs show as "Not listed on iusethis.com".
Very great app. The only issue I got with it is about Apple's softwares. Many shows users count, but with an "Add" button. Some others doesn't even display users counter.
This program has tons of promise, but I still prefer the simple "Application Update" widget. AU isn't as feature rich but it's bulletproof. I'll be back to check on AppFresh soon as I'm sure it's on its way to being a solid app..
It looks very cool !
But there is a OOPPS for me : I cannot use AppFresh with iUSETHis because of an error : IUseThis Credential invalid. (connection data are correct, of course !)
Don't know if the problem come from IUSeThis or AppFresh...
Hi guys,
keep up the good work. Could you add a "remove" button that just removes / uninstalls an app - maybe into the drop down menu (right click on app name)
Cheers
i love this app, but it takes as much as 300 megabytes of ram on startup, and that's really not that cool imho..
I'm kinda disappointed at how buggy AppFresh still is.
AppFresh still insists that I do not have the latest OS X Leopard updates, even though I installed them ages ago. The problem is, in contrast to other apps, I can't exclude system updates from the "Updates" list.
It would be cool if AppFresh could populate the "comments" field in Leap with each app's description.
AppFresh could not connect to osx.iusethis.com to load your profile. timed out (-1001).
Same bug as usual. Now coming with 0.8.

I've been a user of DiskWarrior for many years and I can attest to its effectiveness at solving disk-related issues - it's been a lifesaver on several occasions.
A Leopard-compatible version has been available for some time now, but the updater still hasn't been made available to existing users. The "Free CD Updater Available soon for Version 4.0" text on their website is getting a little old.
Alsoft, I encourage you to support users like myself who have paid for several upgrades and want to be able to use your software on Leopard without having to boot off the 4.0 CD.
