Comment and replies on iTerm:
I guess you need a new mac, kballard :)
I've read quite a few reports that iTerm is slow, but I've been using it since pre-0.5 days, and it has never been slow for me (running on a 800MHz TiBook and on a 2.3 G5). The user interface isn't anything to write home about, but the tabs make it stand out.
Until Apple has a Tabbed terminal, I will use this everyday....
iTerm makes its home in my dock. Apple's Terminal does not. Why? Tabs!
the newest beta (0.9.3) sports a new look, that is really cool.
Oh, the tabs! Once you use them, it's hard to go back. Kind of like using IE 6 once you've used Firefox. You can do it, but...
The 0.8.x version was really slow on my MacBook Pro. The new one (0.9) is not slow anymore.
The stable version is really slow but the latest CVS builds are great !
was slow for me. and the tabbed interface could be prettier.
I still haven't quite figured out why I use this, but I just can't seem to go back to Terminal.app...
I just wish that the bookmarking feature was easier to manage and add to.
bleeding edge version supports full screen. Very shiny :)
A tabbed terminal sounds awfully nice, but I decided to stick it through with Terminal.app so now I use that with GNU Screen for my "tabs".
Not quite as cool, but functional. :)
Tabs. Full Screen mode. Anti-aliased fonts. Multiple sessions stored in that can be accessed via hot keys. If you use "ssh" or "vim" on Mac OS X, you should switch to iTerm. Excellent UTF-8 support. I would buy a license if it wasn't open source. I need to make a donation!
Terminal has tabs! Sorry, iTerm! :D
and it has anti aliased fonts too :)
Until Terminal.app supports 256 color terminals, I'll be using iTerm exclusively. The ability to command-click links to open them (rather than right-clicking) is another reason I'll stick with iTerm.
Crotchety choosy Unix supremacists choose iTerm!

I use iTerm for the tabs support mainly
