Comment and replies on Cog:
@ xaphirezst:
Tag is a nice metadata editor for FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Monkey's Audio and WavPack files.
You'll find Tag here:
http://osx.iusethis.com/app/tagmetadataeditor
v. 0.06 crashes on opening in case a file in the playlist can't be found (ie: it has been moved or deleted.)
It also crashes when adding some Flac files to the playlist, not sure why.
But still, it's a good and very promising audio player! :)
Note: if Cog crashes on opening because of a dead file in its playlist, it'll crash everytime you open it. To solve this, you have to be quick: open Cog and while the playlist is loading, do a cmd-a to select all, then backspace to empty the playlist, then close Cog. If you're fast enough, this should work. :)
the latest nightly/development build fixes the bugs discussed below. it can be downloaded from here; http://cogx.org/nightly_builds/Cog-r519.tbz or installed through cog's integrated sparkle-based updating system.
There's an interesting discussion about audio players for Mac OS X on hydrogenaudio.
If you don't like the way Itunes handles files for you, then Cog is the solution. I love cog - it's simple and it just works.
for anyone experiencing issues with Cog 0.07, there is a final bug fix release (for both tiger and leopard) which can be downloaded from here; http://cogx.org/unstable_builds/Cog-r717.tbz
For those who don't like the factory icon, there a nice one here:

minimalist, simple. great software!
Comment and replies on Cyberduck:
Tried Yumy FTP and Cute FTP, both full version and Cyberduck still won by FAR. Cyberduck is simple the best (& free) FTP client.
Hands down, this is the best simple and free FTP application I have ever seen. Easy-to-use GUI, and works well on my Powerbook G4.
Am I the only one who finds this app rather sluggish and crash-prone? I use it when i need to because I can't find anything better for free, but it's hardly an app I enjoy using.
brian, i do find it takes quite a while to load. otherwise i do use it very frequently and have never had it crash. the interface is also put together very nicely and it fits in with the os x gui just like a good cocoa app should.
I don't have any problems with load time or stability, and I think its pretty great for a free app, however, IMHO Transmit from Panic is worth shelling out for.
Still, if you don't use it a ridiculously large amount, Cyberduck certainly gets the job done.
I've used this program without issue for about 5 months but suddently it's constantly giving me "failed connection" errors whilst command line FTP works fine.
Is there a way to move a file from a remote folder to a local folder in one step? I tried dragging and cutting a file, but it didn't work.
This is getting progressively slower and less reliable (for me) with every version. Shame, as its the only Mac FTP client with a reasonable interface (at least until Flow is released).
I moved to MacFusion. That one covers my (S)FTP needs better than Cyberduck.
One of the best ftp clients ive used, the interface is intuitive and easy to use.

I wonder if I can change audio tags with this?
