Amazing X
If you're a musician who likes to learn new songs and techniques by listening to the same piece of music over and over but wish that the music could be played a little slower, then you'll enjoy Amazing Slow Downer for Mac. This program reads music directly from your CD-ROM drive and slows it down between 1% and 400% using a "time-stretching" method which does not change the pitch, regardless of the speed!
Most programs of this sort require you to record the music first. Not with the Amazing Slow Downer. It processes the music in real time - just insert the CD and press the play button.

JollysFastVNC

I was using VNCThing at the time which proved to be acceptable on PPC Macs but does not run on Intel Macs. Without a proper viewer people can't access ScreenRecycler in a way I imagined. So I started programming JollysFastVNC to enable people using ScreenRecycler. As I got a few mails about the VNC capabilities of JollysFastVNC I decided to enhance the program to be a fully functional VNC client. It's still in the early stages of development, even though somewhat usable and fast..

Quake
Originally made by ID Software, Quake is now opensource.
There are many versions of the mac quake engine available (eg, NPR Quake, Atari Quake, Fruitz of Dojo Quake...etc), so I have linked to the most popular one GLQuake .
For those who have been living on another planet ( :D mars?), Quake is a First Person Shooter similar to other classics such as the Doom series, Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein.
Battle through the official levels battling monsters and demons from hell, and then download custom made maps from other players out there and try new, unseen maps and levels....the opensource aspect makes the variability virtually endless.A True classic and one of the finest FPS' out there (think lots of Blood, Guts and Gore).

System Preferences
System Preferences is the application used by Mac OS X to modify user preferences. A variety of preference panes for controlling the current user session, networking, hardware and other settings are included with Mac OS X. Additionally, preference panes can be installed by third party installers for hardware devices or system-wide utilities.
System Preferences was introduced in Mac OS X v10.0 it replaces Control Panels found in pre-Mac OS X versions of Mac OS. While system software versions from seven to nine featured Control Panel interfaces as separate application-like processes, OS X's unified system preferences application can be seen as a throwback to the classical scrolling control panel last seen in System 6.
In Mac OS X v10.0 through Mac OS X v10.3, a user could drag their favorite preference panes to a toolbar at the top of the System Preferences window. In Mac OS X v10.4, this was replaced with a Spotlight-style search. Results are indicated by dimming the window as a whole and brightening the preference panes that contain settings that match the user's search, achieving an effect similar to physical spotlights shining on to key items on a dimmed stage.
