App Tamer
Some Mac applications, especially web browsers, continue running tasks or animations even when they're supposed to be idle in the background. This can consume valuable processing power and reduce battery life. App Tamer's unique AutoStop capability automatically pauses these applications when you switch away from them, and then restarts them when you click back to them. This frees your CPU and reduces power consumption.
App Tamer includes an attractive and clear user interface for managing your running applications. It shows the average percentage of your processor(s) being used by each app, and graphically displays a history of CPU usage. You can easily enable AutoStop for any application, as well as change its processing priority in OS X.
App Tamer comes pre-configured to automatically pause Safari, Firefox and Chrome when they're in the background. AutoStopping other applications is just a mouse click away.

AppCleaner
Presentation
AppCleaner is a small application which allows you to completely and properly uninstall unwanted apps.
It isn't, in fact, sufficient to just delete an application. Installing an application distributes many files throughout your System using space of your Hard Drive unnecessarily.
AppCleaner can find all these small files and safely delete them.
The toolbar has the following useful features.
Drop an application onto the AppCleaner icon and AppCleaner searches for the related files and then by clicking the red cross it deletes them.
If you change your mind, just click on the green arrow back button.
The "Applications" button shows all the applications installed on your system. You can select them and then click on the magnifying glass search button. AppCleaner will search for the related files of the selected applications and delete them, too.
The "Widgets" button shows all the installed widgets and the "Others" button displays all the installed Preference Panes, Plugins and Screen Savers. -
AppFresh
AppFresh helps you to keep all applications, widgets, preference panes and application plugins installed on your Mac up to date. All from one place, easy to use and fully integrated into Mac OS X. It provides a central place to control the software updates available to your Mac, integrating most popular and most common update checking technologies such as Apple Software Update, Sparkle, Microsoft AutoUpdate and osx.iusethis.com. We want you to spend your time using your applications, not keeping them up to date!
AppFresh not only gets update information from iusethis.com. If you have an user profile at iusethis.com you can manage it from within AppFresh and control which applicationsit contains, even automatically. Using your iusethis profile also enables you to install applications you don't have on your computer. This comes in handy when you need to reinstall your computer and want your basic set of applications installed. Using AppFresh and an up to date iusethis profile makes this an easy task.
AppFresh is still work in progress, so please help us making it better. Contact us or check back at our development blog.

AppTrap
Uninstalling on Mac OS X; let's solve it once and for all!
What can be considered the exact opposite of dragging an application to the Applications folder? Opening another application, dragging the unwanted application to that application, clicking a button, clicking another button, quitting? Nope!
The exact opposite would have to be... dragging the application to the trash. Ah, there you go! This is exactly what AppTrap does. Whenever you drag an application to the trash, a dialog window will pop up, asking if you want to delete the associated system files too. Simple as that.
AppTrap is a completely free utility for uninstalling applications on Mac OS X.
-
AppZapper
Everybody loves the drag and drop nature of OS X. Drag an app into your applications folder, and it's installed. You'd think it would be that easy to delete an app - just a matter of dragging it to the trash. But it's not. Applications install preferences, caches, and other support files throughout your computer that take up space and generate clutter. Deleting these by hand every time you delete an app is a pain.

Bitcoin
Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer network based digital currency. Peer-to-peer (P2P) means that there is no central authority to issue new money or keep track of transactions. Instead, these tasks are managed collectively by the nodes of the network. Advantages:
* Transfer money easily through the Internet, without having to trust middlemen.
* Third parties canât prevent or control your transactions.
* Bitcoin transactions are practically free, whereas credit cards and online payment systems typically cost 1-5% per transaction plus various other merchant fees up to hundreds of dollars.
* Be safe from the instability caused by fractional reserve banking and bad policies of central banks. The limited inflation of the Bitcoin systemâs money supply is distributed evenly (by CPU power) throughout the network, not monopolized by the banks.Bitcoin is an open source project created by Satoshi Nakamoto, and is currently in beta development stage.

Find Any File
Find Any File searches your local disks for files by name, creation or modification date, size, or type and creator code (not by content, though).
As there are other tools with a similar search operation, here are the special features unique to Find Any File:⢠Has a new hierarchical view of the found items, making it much easier to browse 100s of items (see the screenshot).
⢠Can run as root user, finding really any file on your disk, even those that are hidden from normal users.
⢠Can save queries and run them again later.
⢠Is quite fast: Searching my Mac Pro with 1.6 million files for "httpd.conf" took only just 8s.Unlike Spotlight (i.e. the Finder's Find command), it does not access a pre-built database but searches the chosen volume directly. This allows you to find any file, even those inside packages and others excluded from Spotlight search. Hence it is great for finding system files, for example.
On the other hand, it may take a little longer than Spotlight, and it is only fast on HFS volumes. But even on mounted network volumes of a Mac OS X server it can still be surprisingly fast.
Hence, this is not an entire replacement for Spotlight but it can come handy in certain, if not many, situations.

Fluid
Are you a Gmail, Facebook, Campfire or (Insert Your Favorite Webapp Here) fanatic? Do you have 20 or more browser tabs open at all times? Are you tired of some random site or Flash ad crashing your browser and causing you to lose your (say) Google Spreadsheets data in another tab?
If so, Site Specific Browsers (SSBs) provide a great solution for your webapp woes. Using Fluid, you can create SSBs to run each of your favorite webapps as a separate desktop application. Fluid gives any webapp a home on your Mac OS X desktop complete with Dock icon, standard menu bar, and logical separation from your other web browsing activity.
How does it work?
Fluid itself is a very small application. When launched, Fluid displays a small window where you specify the URL of a webapp you'd like to run in a Site Specific Browser. Provide an application name, click 'Create' and you'll be prompted to launch the new native Mac app you've just created.
Use Fluid to run YouTube, GTalk, Flickr, Basecamp, Delicious, .Mac webmail, or any other webapp as a separate Mac desktop application.
Anytime you click a link to another site in an SSB, the link is opened in your system default web browser, keeping your SSB dedicated to the original site you've specified.

GPGTools Installer
GPGTools is an open source initiative to bring OpenPGP to Apple OS X. This allows you to sign, verify, encrypt and decrypt files and e-mails. The project is originated from efforts revamping GPGMail developments in 2010.
The personal privacy is one of the most underestimated goods everyone of us has. By encrypting your data before sending them over the internet you prevent others from reading them during the delivery process. Where the "others" can not only be negligible hackers but more important criminal individuals, business companies or even governments interested in your personal information for various reasons some of them you can't even imagine!
Another point is the origin of information. Every piece of information has its source that inseparably belongs to it. The source of an information is almost as importand as the information itself. By using GPGTools the reciever of an email or file can be sure the information has been sent by only you. He even can tell if the content has been altered on its way through the internet and is therefore not valid for you. PGP messages cannot be faked! - Not partially, not completely, NOT AT ALL!

- Multi-Touch support
- Automatic find next proper file to play (if the file name ended with continuos number)
- Auto detect the encode method of subtitle file (with Universal Charset Detector)

Anyone using a computer (and the Macintosh is no exception) spends a lot of time locating files and applications, and then carrying out actions on those items. The Finder is a reasonably good tool for getting a visual overview of the contents of your disk, but it isn't ideal for quickly locating and manipulating files, especially if you have a deep and complicated folder structure, or if you prefer keyboard navigation to using the mouse.Quicksilver allows you to find what you need quickly and easily, while keeping your hands on the keyboard. For example, if you want to launch an application hidden in the depths of your file system, simply activate Quicksilver with a keystroke, type a few letters of the application's name, then hit Return or Enter to launch it. When you don't need Quicksilver, it keeps out of your way, preserving precious screen real estate, and yet you can summon it instantly with a key stroke - just like Mercury the winged messenger. Actually, Roman mythological texts are remarkably silent on whether Mercury could be summoned with a key stroke, but it would have been great if he could. Quicksilver will certainly make you feel as if you have god-like powers.

Safari
Before Safari, browsers were an afterthought. Something you put up with if you wanted to surf the internet. One browser looked and felt just like another, so you chose the one that worked the best and crashed the least. They were ugly, cluttered affairs, whose interfaces competed for your attention and made browsing â” the very purpose for which they were created â” more difficult. Safari changes all that.
Safari is designed to emphasize the browsing, not the browser. The browser frame is a single pixel wide. You see a scroll bar only when needed. By default, thereâs no status bar. Instead, a progress gear turns as your page loads. And if you so choose, you can hide almost the entire interface, removing virtually every distraction from the browser window. A great browser should get out of your way and let you simply enjoy the web. Safari does just that. And it does it regardless of platform.
The first browser to deliver the ârealâ internet to a mobile device, Safari renders pages on iPhone and iPod touch just as you see them on your computer. But this is more than just a scaled down mobile-version of the original. It takes advantage of the technologies built into these multi-touch devices. The page shifts and reformats to fill the window when you turn it on its side. You zoom in just by pinching and extending your fingers. Of course, no matter how you access it, Safari is always blazing fast and easy-to-use.

Secret Socks
Online proxies are a useful way to get around restrictive firewalls that block you from accessing parts of the internet. Maybe your corporate environment has rules against accessing sites like GMail from work, and you need to find out what time to pick up your kids after work. Or maybe you live in a country that censors all foreign media, and you need to upload a video recording to YouTube. Proxies can help with that.
Chances are, you do not want your boss or government to be able to spy on what you do online. That's why it is important to use encryption with your proxy connection. An SSH SOCKS proxy is perfect for that. However, some environments have deep packet inspection (DPI) equipment in place that blocks or throttles all encrypted online communications, rendering your secure SSH useless. We know that this is being done in Iran, for instance.
But there is still hope. Security pro Bruce Leidl has written a patch for the widely-used OpenSSH program. This patch makes the encrypted connection undetectable to DPI. Please see Bruce's documentation for details on how it works. With this new patch, you can securely connect to a SOCKS proxy server without the online watchdogs knowing, or being able to target you for throttling. Hence the name Secret Socks.

ShrinkIt
...is your application larger than necessary because of needless data stored in image resources? What is making your PDFs four times the size they ought to be? More on this shocking discovery at 11!
Being a responsible and forward-thinking developer, youâre probably good and ready for the day Mac OS X supports resolution independence so you use multilayer TIFFs and PDFs instead of flat bitmap images whenever possible.
ShrinkIt is a simple, small, Panic-internal tool (for Mac OS X Snow Leopard) that will automate the process of stripping needless metadata from PDFs by re-saving them using Appleâs PDF processor. We believe this is 100% lossless â” itâs not compressing anything, just removing cruft. Simply drop a bunch of files (not folders) onto it â” such as the contents of your appâs Resources folder â” to have it find the PDFs and do its magic. The original files will be renamed with the prefix â_org_â for safety, but youâll likely want to delete âem. Thatâs it!

Sidestep
When you connect to the Internet through an unprotected wireless network, such as at a coffeeshop or an airport, where you donât have to enter a security key, youâre putting yourself at risk.
Attackers connected to the same network can easily intercept your unencrypted traffic and log in as you to services such as Facebook, Amazon, and LinkedIn.
The solution: When Sidestep detects you connecting to an unprotected wireless network, it automatically encrypts all of your Internet traffic and reroutes it through a secure connection to a server of your choosing, which acts as your Internet proxy. And it does all this in the background so that you donât even notice it.
With Sidestep enabled, no one can eavesdrop on your traffic and impersonate you or see what youâre seeing as you browse the web.

Tembo is an efficient search tool that is based upon the Spotlight engine.
The job of Tembo is to make searching (and finding) of files, mail messages, bookmarks, ... as easy as possible.

Search results are grouped by categories. Preferences allow for categories to be enabled, disabled and reordered.
Drill Down: Details & Filters
Behind a small arrow on the header bar for each group you will find the real power of Tembo: drill-down. Tembo may list up to 2500 search results within each group. Here you will find filter appropriate for the context. These help you sort through the list of results. Messages, for example, may be filtered by subject, sender and recipient.
More than a File Search Tool
Thus Tembo is much more than a file search tool. It works as an extension to Mail.app / iChat.app to locate messages. And as extension to Safari to search browsing history and bookmarks, etc.

TuneSpan
TuneSpan allows you to truly manage the media files in your iTunes Library, giving you the ability to effortlessly move them to wherever you choose (an external drive of any kind, even a network drive) and easily keep track of all locations.
TuneSpan uses the term "span" to describe moving your media files; you can have your files spanned across many different drives without any confusion.
TuneSpan never removes any of your tracks from iTunes, so your playlists, play counts, etc. are always preserved.
TuneSpan makes copies of your media files at the selected location; none of your media files are ever removed. And, TuneSpan can clean up after itself: After tracks have been successfully spanned, TuneSpan can move the original files to the trash, and even check for empty folders and move those to the trash as well to help keep your system tidy.
TuneSpan's interface provides the ability to quickly see where your media files are, and easily restore them to their original location, or even move them around again.
Not only does TuneSpan provide the ability to easily move your media files around, but it also allows you to browse your iTunes library in much more comprehensive and sophisticated ways.
First and foremost, TuneSpan has a location browser, so you can see where your media files are located. TuneSpan also provides more advanced filtering options than iTunes. For example, if you select a media type, the rest of the interface will update to only show playlists which contain that media type and only show locations with files of that media type. Moreover, filters can be combined to narrow what you see in the interface, with a media type selected; you can then select a playlist and the locations will be updated to only show files for tracks of the selected media type in the selected playlist. In the toolbar, you can quickly see what filters are active, and click to bring up a menu to easily modify or clear your active filters. TuneSpan provides primarily a drag-and-drop interface, but can also be fully controlled by the keyboard, and contains many contextual menus to provide advanced functionality and usability.
For more information, check out TuneSpan Help.
