Cave Story ( どうくつ / Doukutsu )

This is one of those few true greats in freeware games. At first glance, it's a standard platformer. Go a bit deeper, though, and you'll find a complex storyline, impressive pixel animation, and at times shockingly difficult without being impossible.
Some games are hard because they're poorly designed; this one is hard because it's EXCELLENTLY designed.There's jumping, shooting, multiple weapons and upgrades, uniquely designed levels, and some fantastic bosses. Most anyone who's played it will tell you that it's one of the best games out there. Give it a try, and see if you agree.

JSesh is basically a text editor capable of handling Egyptian Hieroglyphs. It is compatible with the HieroTeX package for LaTeX, making it easy to type hieroglyphs and then copy them and typeset them using LaTeX.

AppFresh can capture the installed version of an application along with your preferences and application data and store it in a safe place. This way, you're covered in case you decide you liked the last version of an application better. Create as many snapshots as you want to make sure you don't lose anything.

i-Installer is a generic software install and configuration application. It can install socalled i-Packages, which are wrappers (directories containing files) with names ending on .ii2 and which will look like files in most applications (like the Finder). i-Packages can be updated and downloaded from remote locations. iAlertU
iAlertU is an alarm system for the MacBook computers. Once it is running, you simply press and hold the "menu" button of the Apple Remote to activate it. Once activated, an alarm sound starts whenver the computer is moved (more triggers are available) and the only way to stop it is to use the same Apple Remote. Kotoba
Kotoba is a simple aid for increasing your Japanese vocabulary. It is based on the not so unconvential idea that increased exposure to words will help consolidate your memory of them. The implementation of this idea is by repeatedly showing words in a small window that you can keep visible in the background while you work on your stuff.
The program can be set to show the kanji first, then the kana reading, and the translation and any possible comments, or vice versa. Words can be displayed manually, using navigation buttons or the arrow keys, or automatically via an adjustable timer. Multiple dictionaries can be created and edited. Editing is very flexible as Kotoba supports drag-and-drop, searching, as well as import and export of text files.

MacDING
MacDING is an english <-> german dictionary-lookup program for Mac OS X. It is a reimplementation of Frank Richter's DING (DIctionary Nice Grep) lookup program for Unix/Linux Systems (using Tcl/Tk). MacDING is natively implemented in Cocoa and provides therefore an eye-candy Apple interface. The functionability at this point however, is not as comprehensive as the one provided by the original software (e.g. no ispell/dict lookups). If you need a more comprehensive application, you might consider installing the original software (it runs under Apple's X11).

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.
It doesn't need any external codec or program to work.

XeTeX is a typesetting system based on a merger of Donald Knuth's TeX system with Unicode and Mac OS X font technologies.
XeTeX is now a standard part of the TexLive distribution. Also see MacTex.
